Hope I'm not too late, but I want to join. I think this class will really help me improve on my awareness.

Well I'm Sydney. I'm 16. Found out about lucid dreaming when I was about 13, so around 3 years ago. Since then I have struggled on different techniques as I couldn't really find the right ones, besides DILD, to further use to have lucid dreams. As of a couple months ago, I have turned to DEILD. It won't be the only technique I use, but it will be my main one.

I will get started right away.
      Follow your dreams.

      DILD - 50 | DEILD - 3 | WILD - 1 | MILD - 1

      Hi!
I know this is really late, but I'd like to join as well, if it's okay.
I've read over some things, and have some questions about what I've experienced from the beginner lessons. I don't know anyone local who follows dream yoga..so I come bearing questions. lol.

I welcome any questions. I have been doing many other things, so it could be days before your questions are answered, but I will get to them. Take this as training to be worked on over the entire next year. Do not rush, you will have decades to use it, so take the time to learn it,,, and have fun!

No problem, thank you for the heads up. But, Yeah, it sounds really up my alley. It seems that many of my hobbies revolve around methodical methods that may take months to see the first result and years if not decades/lifetime to perfect. It's like making wine or cheese, it may take a few months to see it come to fruition, but well worth it.

Like the others said I know this is late and all but I would very much like to join this class. The whole concept of dream yoga seems amazing to me, and the things I have already read confirm that I will be very interested in this skill. I love the idea of training your mind like this, so dream yoga is for me it seems .
I am a 15 year old male from Australia and I've been on and off lucid dreaming for about 6 months. My interest has been piqued for the past few weeks about lucid dreaming again, and I am trying to learn as much as I can about the world of dreaming. I mainly have used DILD with a splash of MILD, and I hope that the skills of dream yoga will help me increase my overall awareness of the world and reality.

I want to join the class! I've been doing a little yoga practice on my own off and on for the last year, mostly on the visualization side -- trying to read confusing and dry mystical texts and make sense out of it all. I wish I would have found this last year but better late than never. Thanks for putting these lessons together; I'm looking forward to working through them all.

      Hello!
I am super excited for this class. I have read Yoga for Dream and Sleep and was attempting to do the techniques on my own but have had a little bit of difficulty and I think I might be losing my lucid dreaming progress. Oh well. This seems like a much better way and I am sure your lessons will be both enlightening and informative. I look forward to the discussions as well. I have a few friend that are into this as well but as of recent we haven't had much to discuss. Hopefully your homework will start some wonderful self exploratory discussions. Thanks a bunch.

My name is Adam I am 19 and I am also in Idaho!! Well for the time being. What city are you living in? I am in Nampa which, as you probably already know, is right by Boise. That would be super awesome to meet you although if you are hesitant that is understandable. You can't know a lot about someone over the internet haha. Anyhow I am really excited to get really into this course and hopefully I can add some insight. This stuff is really dense and I have just gone straight out of the book and I haven't been very good at waking 3 times a night. I just go straight back to bed. It also doesn't help that I am getting up at 6 now instead of 8 and I still haven't adjusted. But I am sure this is topic for another time.

I have quite a bit of experience/knowledge of lucid dreaming and would consider my self fairly knowledgable but I haven't had a lot of on hand experience, although I have gotten WILD down pretty well. If I really try I can get into it but I haven't tried for a little over a week.

Anyhow, I am stoked to get started and will look at the first lesson immediately!
      Thank you so much!

I am a 53 year old Onieronaut with an extensive background in Meditation and Western Ceremonial Magick/Chaos Magick as well as Toltec Sorcery. I've been LDing since about age 18, I first ran across the Idea in Carlos Casteneda's work in the 70's. I'm lately getting back into Dream work after a period of only tepid interest. At one time during the 90's I was having up to 3 or more LD's a night, this period culminated in a powerful life changing experience, I had 8 long LD's via false awakenings in one experience culminating in "waking up" here in this world. You could say I was taught what "life is just a Dream" means in a very visceral way. after that I began to get burned out on it, it seemed like there was nothing left to do in the dreamworld that interested me, most of the goals I had set for myself I had achieved. so now I'm looking for a new approach, Dream Yoga is intriguing to me, especially the "Clear Light" practice. I am a practicing Zen Buddhist now so issues of Mindfulness and Awareness are also important to me.

I first heard about lucid dreaming from Casteneda's works around 1983. Back then there were not many resources. My background is much more eastern. I read many of his works, but felt the concepts were based on pre-existing mysticism. Seeing the truth behind this being a dream is a very life shaking step. I hope some of the material I present will be of interest to you. I may be earthly and shallow, but the clear light is less interesting after you have been there a few times. I recommend everyone reaches it and spends some time there, but again perhaps I am earthly. I actually want incarnation.
If you have any questions about the lessons feel free to start a workbook. It may take up to a week for me to respond. Have fun.

All the time I have been a member on DV, and this is the first time I have encountered this thread.
      Count me in.

Phil from the UK - Aged 48 - Lucid skills from childhood
Almost in the same situation as Homonicon, with very many lucid dreams.
I got tired with the dream world, as I could not put any practical use to the skill.
Went off lucid dreaming for a more interesting normal dream world. Too much power became tedious, so I just stopped trying to control dreams.
Then I found this forum, and my interest is once again revived.
I do not wish to jump back into lucid dreaming, but am very interested in meeting other entities in dreams.

My dream self annoys me immensly, as whenever I get into a higher state of conciousness, he ( me ) spews out philosophical statements.
A bit like a college educated professor teaching a five year old kid.

I will be starting from scratch, by trying to ignore the skills I have acquired over the years, and taking your approach to dreaming.
      Thanks in advance,
      Phil

I can relate to the return to normal dreaming. My control level almost make LDs a bit tedious. I have lately been trying not to take control and just letting the normal dream process start up again. It can be very interesting.

      Hey Sivason,

Very interested in how mindfulness and self-observation can create a higher state of awareness, first in physical daily life, then, bleeding into the sleeping state. Fascinated with the concept of learning how to die before we die.

Your Matrix connections are very cool!

      Hey,
I have just discovered those classes here recently and I would love to participate as well
I really like the whole idea of Dream Yoga and I really hope to increase my awareness during my waking and my dream life.
So I'm Benni, 18 years old and from Germany. I still go to school (summer holidays end today and school starts tomorrow). I have discovered LDing ~2 years ago when I was on Exchange for 1 year in New Zealand but I simply was too busy to get started - so I did this when I came back. About 2 months ago I got really intrigued and that's how I landed here.

I would love to make those exercises a part of my daily routine and find out some things about how my brain works and how improving some of those skills that you teach can affect myself, lucid dreaming and the dreaming process in general.

Thanks a lot for making those classes
      - Benni

I'm definitely eager to give this ago.

Thanks for putting effort and time into this project. Going out of your way to teach strangers an art that you love doing, I applaud you.

I started lucid dreaming in 09, and loved it. I was taking it very serious for a few months but fell off the wagon due to a family member passing away, which changed my whole life.

I've been back at it, getting my recall and awareness during the day up to par for about 2 weeks now, and fully loaded to bring lucid dreaming back in my life for ever.. No turning back. Never.

I'm eager to learn anything that would help perfect the art of lucid dreaming. This sounds like a challenge, and definitely worth a decent crack at.

I've got a few health issues which may make it hard for me to fully focus and succeed at this, but will do my best.

Hi Sivason i was trying with the advanced class #1 with blocking random thoughts.
the 15 sec course where you concentrate on the second hand without getting distracted was if i understood it right very easy.

but i would be in great gratitude if you could explain step 2 in more detail.
Are you supposed to only notice every random thought that pops up in your mind and comment on them?
please tell if i got anything wrong.

Here is the important point of that section: "Here is a very important thing to clarify. You must get to the point when you recognize that a thought is forming while it is still subtle imagery somewhere in your mind’s eye, before it becomes internal speech. You can do this with practice. All thoughts have a moment when they are emerging, yet have not reached the stage of being fully expressed as language internally."

By limiting acceptable thought to only what is taking place right in front of you, you will be able to detect thoughts that are forming randomly. The challenge is to get subtle enough awareness that you can intercept the thought "before" it becomes a thought. Make sure you look back at the BE Here Now lesson.
Peace Be With You. Oh, and sure, The Force too, why not.

Sure thing. Read the first lesson and then consider starting a workbook. Many people are just reading and do not have workbooks. They are good if you have any questions though.

Just jump in! The lessons build on each other so do all the basic skills at least a little before trying the intermediate ones. Start on any Basic skill and see what you can do with it.
