Your sense of masculinity is not the same as mine. Perhaps your masculinity consists of shooting lots of guns. Open, unfounded destruction. Having lots of sex. Driving a big truck. Drinking alcohol until you're either too stupid or too passed out to realize that your life is miserable.

My sense of masculinity depicts a man who's:

• Independent
• Happy
• Intelligent
• Accepting and unbiased
• Harsh ONLY when he needs to be, friendly when he doesn't.
• Comfortable enough with his own masculinity that he doesn't need to attempt to degrade that of those around him to prove the worth of his own.

Lighten up, buddy. Watch the ponies. Don't watch the ponies. We don't care. Go be your sense of masculine somewhere else while we be our own senses of masculine here.

P.S. - Look forward to the day that this generation of bronies' children grow up and one of our handsome, sensitive, little boys turned young man starts dating your daughter, assuming you raised her well enough to know the kinds of people she SHOULD be dating, you manly man, you.

Haha, don't worry, I don't think any of us feel particularly threatened. Just having a little fun. I can't even count the amount of sarcastic and hateful people I've encountered on the internet since becoming a brony. It's just sort of become a game, these days.

Sorry, I don't like to laugh at people. But since you sound like many of us before we started watching, I am partly laughing at myself. I could see myself posting a rant against pony fans, before I started watching. I would have had to eat some crow big time, and I'm glad I didn't.

Try it, you'll like it.

And for goodness sakes, if you don't try it then don't knock it. But I would advise not to wimp out here. Becoming a brony is not something that you will regret.

You've taken the first step already by showing interest. So, I'll give it 10 days before you succumb to the power of the ponies. Took me 5. Then you will chuckle at yourself the way I do, which is part of what makes watching the show so delightful.

Wheather you love something or hate it, telling someone to go hang himself is just incredibly nasty and mean. It serves no other purpose than to cause hurt.

I enjoy this show very much and consider myself a Brony. I actually kinda like the fact that a simple show like this can create such butthurt among the internet community. Just shows how insecure some people are about their masculinity.

Well i can tell i haven't been the only one who hasn't gotten on here in a while... Has anypony else heard about the My Little Portal cartoon by Christinscartoons?

I've been on EquestriaDaily and there is a lot of portal art there...I haven't delved into it though.

I've seen some of it on Youtube, if that's the same one. It's pretty fun.

Portal art on equestriadaily, so there! Funny i almost never go to there, or any real brony website for that matter... but i am a sucker for pony pictures.

I have ponified my computer. I created my own Pony theme, I've changed my desktop icons, and later on I'm going to change the taskbar icons and the start orb to pony images.


It's pretty cool having my Angry Birds icon changed to Pinkie Pie shooting a bird from her party cannon!

No time for ponies lately, I have finals next week. :/

Schools over for meeeeee! Im also thinking of getting a friend of mine to fully ponify my ps3, except he isn't a brony so it can be rather difficult...

I spent so much time looking at ponies recently that I have actually had a few dreams about them, including one last night where I was trying to interpret emotions displayed by various ponies and whether they were right or wrong for each character.

Really a weird dream.

Yeah I'm a pretty dedicated brony. Of course I've seen every episode, but I also browse EqD, the MLP subreddit and ponibooru quite a lot.

This has indeed led me to have multiple pony dreams. Unfortunately, the vast majority of the time they are dreams of watching MLP, aware that it's not real! I have not met a pony, alas!

I believe I was briefly Twilight Sparkle at one point though. Didn't occur to me as odd that I was performing a sonic rainboom (in space) until after though.

Also, lol at the successful troll in this thread.

I don't apply the label "brony" to myself (though I do generally hate needless labels), but I do find it to be a very good show with many praiseworthy qualities. It's a shame that this attitude amongst some is not accepted.

I came for the internet memes. I stayed for the show. Seriously, that's how I started watching it.

I was mainly referring to those who spew vitriol at any who admit to liking the show in any capacity; the whole "brony" group identity deal strikes me as more of a response to the reactions from outside and I can kind of understand that. If adult enjoyment of the show was not notable then it would be like most shows, namely just something that people like watching.

Yeah, I'm not fond of the word "brony" either. It was funny at first, but I feel like it has some sort of negative connotation to it. FiM fan or just fan works fine for me.

Haha, you might have seen a brony-themed "What People Think" before, but I promise you didn't see this exact one. I honest-to-goodness spent like 30-ish minutes this morning making it. Haha.

Was playing Fallout 3: Point Lookout, got the idea in my head, got up to get a drink, Fallout's been on pause since for some reason, while I did that picture and then played guitar for a few hours. Although if you did see one that was really similar I'm disappointed because I thought I made a funny. :I

As far as the conversation going on in here, this is the only fandom I've ever been a part of that I actually like to identify with by namesake. I enjoy being identified as a "brony". Rather than being concerned with any negative connotations on the it or conformation to a group, I just like being a part of something like this.

I'm usually all hipster and non-conformist or whatever, like Photolysis up there said, I don't really care for needless labels either. But I like "brony". It wraps up what they need to know quickly. I watch My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I talk to people about it. I try to be a nice guy.

They might not necessarily see it that way, but all the same, I started identifying myself like this and in all honesty, regardless of whatever flak comes with it, I'll take it. I like being part of a group that is (generally) easy to get along with. I like being able to say something that indicates so easily about my personality, even if there is generalization involved, whatever.

I enjoy being a brony. I like saying to people, "Yes, I'm a brony". For me, it's as simple as that.

Awesome ! It really seems like all the brony conventions are really growing, many known people showing up and such.
