Thread: What game are you currently playing?

I pre-ordered the new game from GoG, and I - like many other gamers - felt a bit let down since the Humble Bundle became available the exact same day with a lot of extra content and for a cheaper price (if you want to), but GoG were just as surprised as everyone else. They chose to reach out to Amanita Design and they agreed to give us Machinarium for free, the full soundtrack for free and a special artbook for free. And on top of that GoG chose to give us The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director’s Cut for free as well! Awesome customer service!

Ah i finally found this thread

I talked about this a little in another thread already, but here is my current list:
- League of Legends, i play it almost daily, i just unlocked Fizz some days ago, it's fun ;D
- Heroes of Might & Magic VI, it's my first M&M game... i played King's Bounty before which i liked more... but this one is okay as well..
- WARP, gotta finish this indie game... but i'm just too lazy...
- Alan Wake, same as above, only one chapter left... but i'm lazy (and scared)

Aw, you just reminded me of a Heroes of might & magic game I used to play. That game was so cool lol. I might have to try to find it again.

Awww man! Thats so awesome! I used to play HOMM 3 I think.Was soo epic!

I'm playing Dark Souls online and LBP2 while waiting for my friend to give me his PSN password so I can download Assassins Creed 2, Borderlands, FFIX, FF tactics and From Dust from him.

HoMM 3 was what made the series name and spawned all the clones. The last one I played was 5, and it was... less good. Battle for Wesnoth has similar mechanics and the one campaign I've played was pretty sweet (but hard!). It's free and open source, and I think it scales pretty well to better/worse hardware. I've actually had the BfW itch the last couple days--I might start it up.

Yesterday I played a ton of Capture & Hold in Tribes: Ascend. I'm really liking that match type, which they added coming out of beta this month.

Damn i used to play that game! Contributed a few animations to it as well o-O. HOMM 3 is a great game. The flat played HOMM 6 for a good while and found it pretty fun as well.

Currently i'm working though Fallout 3 again (whilst supposedly working on coursework). Game seems buggier than i remember ¬¬

I did indeed play some Wesnoth yesterday, and I don't know why I was thinking the mechanics are like HoMM--they really aren't at all xD

It's more the setting and all the different creatures (and the way you match them against each other in battle) that have the same feel as HoMM, but you don't upgrade buildings or stack armies, there's no separate battle screen (battles happen right on the hex map in Wesnoth), and you're not so confined to narrow paths in Wesnoth.

World of Warcraft, Star Wars: The Old Republic, and Battlefield 3 right now, mostly. Will be playing Diablo 3 when it hits in a couple of weeks. If the Guild Wars 2 beta weekend returns, I might try it out, too. If I get bored, I might try League of Legends again, but right now I have plenty to keep me busy in game land.

Im really getting into The Witcher 2 now, I'm a 360 gamer mostly so only just had the chance to play it. That's my main game but I've also got SSX, Dark Souls, Trials Evolution, Fez and Saints Row the Third on the go. Oh and On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness ep 1 which was cheap on steam a couple weeks back.

Feels good to have too many games to play.

FIFA 12. Just looking for some fan chants for Man United. I hope we win today.

Haha, looking above now I realise I wasn't going mad when I said about the oldskool of HoMM. Well, at least the ones we used to play.

Playing "The Walking Dead EP 1." right now... it's kinda fun so far. I never seen the TV show yet, but people say it's similar. The game is mostly story driven and doesn't have mindless zombie killing every minute.

I like it so far, there will be 5 Episodes overall

Edit: Finished it.. it's kinda short, but worth the playthrough... I'm waiting for the new episodes now
Also, there are points in the game where you have to make a choice, which alters what will happen after it, and in the end it shows that how big percentage of other players made the same decisions as you ^^

Just played through it last weekend, and agreed: short but cool. It has a different main group than the comics/show, but they encounter some people from the main cast along the way, giving bits of backstory on characters we know.

I gave HoMM VI a go the last couple days, but... meh. It's kind of boring. They upgraded the eye candy a ton since #5 (both character animations and cut scenes), but the gameplay is tedious and the story/dialogue is better than #5, but still half-assed. I think I'll stick with Wesnoth for turn-based fantasy.

Playing Through Skyrim Again, since I just got my 360 back from letting my cousin borrow it. This time I'm going battle mage. Mostly Conjuration and Healing while wearing Heavy Armor and using one-handed weapons.

Also watched Rango the other day with my Lil Brother and Sister so I decided to make a Rango Based character in Fallout New Vegas. haha His Luck is set to 10 and his charisma to Movie Star.

I had to stop playing Skyrim when I realised all I did was play to a particular point, and then have an overbearing urge to start over... coz I thought of a better build. And then when I realised the stupidity inherent in the skill leveling system. Knowing I could max out Smithing, Enchanting, and Alchemy and be unbeatable... naa. Flawed. Had to call it a day.

I still love the epic landscapes though.

Yeah I got Really bored with it too, But I like the skill Leveling System better then Fallout New Vegas... Stupid perk every OTHER Level up. I realised the only way to get a challenge out of it was to be A Mage. but ether way I've been playing them since Morrowind So I'm mostly playing for the story and mythology.

I like Skyrim... i would still be playing it if not for my soon-to-happen exams.... Also.. i lost my interest in playing anymore after i completed the main story and got like no reward... I was like... I saved the world and i get nothing? Not even some cheering? Meh...

Yeah the Main Story was kinda BS, but I Like the game overall. Good Luck on your Exams!

Lol... it wasn't epic at all... and the shout you get is also failish and boring.. I expected at least whole Whiterun coming up to me and cheering or something..

I never even completed the main story... was always distracted by exploration and guild quests. Until I realised I was completing a never ending supply of thieve guild lesser quests. I shouldn't touch any RPGs because I'll always restart, in an attempt to optimise my playstyle and character build - then it becomes a bit 'scientific' and not a game. O_O Must've had around 20 characters on that...

The fact you could smith and enchant gear with much better stats than you could find in a cave destroyed my motivation for cave exploration. I'm sure if I had it on the PC, and not the Xbox, someone would've created a mod to make it more balanced, less exploitable, and that the best gear would come from a difficult mob or multilevel cave, not shop ingredients.

Well, nobody forces you to use that smithing or enchanting exploit... I never even thought about doing so... Exploring was more fun

I didn't read the patch notes since long, but i heard that they tweaked smithing/enchanting since then anyway... and well mods are there as well ^^

I spent 140 hours in Skyrim when i decided to finish the main story. Before that all i was doing was Thieves Guild and random quests, exploring... The game is massive if you just wander around
When i stopped i had 150 hours played.

Naa, it's not really an exploit, but part of the design to level your skills up. It's just well easy. All they'd have to do is make the ingredients or parts for smithing/enchanting available from cave exploration, and not in shops.

I know I'm repeating myself, but it was terrible using some epic enchanted sword I'd made to fight my way through some crazy long, difficult cave.... and then the reward is, in comparison to mine, an inferior enchanted weapon. Obviously I lvled enchanting to make good items.... but they shouldn't be the best. >_>

I can't fault the game for atmosphere and scope, it's truly breath-taking. And the music adds to it well. I spent lol, about 200 hours in it... O_O Furthest I got in main story was killing the first dragon and becoming Thane of Whiterun.

Think my best bet is to stop moaning about a console version, and actually try a modded PC version.
