      @curfused

Have you seen A Scanner Darkly? It's another of Richard Linklater's. I saw it for the first time the other day. I watched Waking Life at university, when I was pretty sleep deprived. It was AWESOME. And just a little creepy.

      Some of my favourites:

Chungking Express - beautifully shot and a great soundtrack. I also love that quote - ""At the high point of our intimacy, we were just 0.01cm away from each other. "
Shame - one of the best films of 2011, in my opinion
Orlando - I'm a sucker for some Woolf
      Wild at Heart Nicolas Cage.....
Fargo - such a guilty pleasure

I really really liked Andrea Arnold's Wuthering Heights, but I maybe wouldn't put it in my favourites.

I love a bit of Herzog, and some of Breillat's and....ohhhhhh there are too many amazing films for me to list!
So many other good films are coming back to me, but I can't list them all.

This is the first time I've ever had to put a definitive list of films together as my favourites. And it's so damned hard I'm sure I've missed out loads.

Donnie Darko - Crazy movie, very interesting and very deep
Vanilla Sky - Interesting, you don't know what the heck is going on until the end, and it's just kind of profound yet obvious. IDK.
Fight Club - Fun movie, pretty hilarious, interesting. I loved the book too.
The Fountain - Super creative, beautiful visuals and beautiful music.
The Time Traveler's Wife - Romance with a twist. Very sad but a great movie.
A Beautiful Mind - I just love mental disorders and this was very well done
Moulin Rouge - Fun movie, I loved the modern songs and stuff in an older setting. Plus I like Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor.

This is the first time I've ever had to put a definitive list of films together as my favourites. And it's so damned hard I'm sure I've missed out loads.
That's why I use Jinni! It's gotten pretty good at selecting movies I'd like. I have a lot more favorites than this, but these here are pretty good.

      my top 5

stalker: for some reason i feel at peace while im watching this film. helped me get through some really rough times in my life and sort of changed my perspective on a lot of the world around me. my favourite film of all time i'd say.
mulholland drive: the first film i really loved. a crazy trip.
before sunset: the perfect love story and i'm a sucker for romance
      early summer: yay people watching!
the tree of life: transcends time and space while still being rooted with a deep emotional core.

Hitchock, need I say more, his films are all so psychosexual and understated. My other favorites are Blade Runner and others mentioned like Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and you all are tre cool for mentioning anything by Arronofsky ( The Fountain, Pi, Requiem for a Dream and The Wrestler). He is a modern master of cinema in my opinion but Nolan's pre Batman films like Memento are awesome as well- I'm pretty sure a certain movie involving INCEPTING into dreams was already mentioned, lol? Love films, studied film theory in undergrad and big fan of the pioneers like Thomas Edison and Monsieur George Melies- they were the real dreamers.

The Resident Evil movies are like Hitler performing a holocaust on the games. They should not have the title Resident Evil. Resident Evil 1,2,and 3 carry the true Resident Evil fan base, after that it got HOOORRRIBLE. (Outbreak was alright, and 4 was fun but they lacked in many ways as well) Anyways....I'll add another movie...uh...Overboard

Ha ha, but I was supposed to be a state legislator in the capitol building. It got reduced to just Emma Stone walking in the building for a few seconds and then down the steps.
