No man we have to revert to the stoneage before it's too late.

We only have a limited amount of metals in the ground. We've probably already mined enough to last forever if we start recycling them properly.

Certainly not enough to last forever but enough to get us (and our mining equipmeht) someplace that has more and doesn't have other sentient beings to step all over.

Also, there are good things about the stone age. We shouldn't throw out the baby with the bathwater. There's a lot to be said for being a wild human animal as opposed to a domesticated one.

For sure, but I don't think we should go back to living that way. There's positives to take from it.
If we could merge some of them with our current way of living, we would be better off.

Given that people's economic values are constantly changing and you have no way to account for what they want before they buy it then you have no idea what this "list" we "must eliminate" even is. Basically you are rationalizing your coercive philosophy by thinking it is helping the world. It is just naked coercion though.

Good Post Sushil. I agree with most of the beginning of your post, I couldn't really get through the "experiment" part though lol

Society moves way too fast...it's a result of intelligence. Actually, It's the result of human unconsciousness. The thinking mind was supposed to be used as a tool, now-a-days our mind controls us. I think schools were the reason for this. We were forced to sit-down, conform, and focus on logical thinking 8 hours a day.

My theory on all this is that in our society, the average person mind is "weak". Which is to say, the average person's attention span is incredibly short. He can't concentrate. That's the cause behind negative emotions. ( Depression, anger, anxiety, fear, etc. ) A mind that can concentrate is controlled and strong. We have to be able to concentrate again, and pay attention to one thing at a time, for longer periods of time.

Once you practice concentration exercises you will see how strong and alive you are again, and how weak you "were". Once you can concentrate, you become the "controller" of your mind instead of the controlled.


Don't get me wrong, technology is great. Consumerism is great, it's nice to have things, it's nice to have desires..I mean we're human. I love computers, electronics, and being able to make music with software, but we need to take it to the next level and get out of our mind to fully enjoy and appreciate all these things.

So no, I don't believe "industrial society" destroys mind and environment. But "mind" destroys environment and industrial society lol.

Food, clothing and shelter......these are the maximum number of things this planet can provide to humans.

The planet is a rock, you cannot "destroy it", and in some million years it will be destroyed anyway by the sun.
technological advancement is the only way to save our race (from a point of view where there is no god/magic/etc).

Stop lying to yourself, saving species, trying to stop climate change is UNNATURAL.
Species dissapeating and new ones appearing is how things have always been, this is how new and improved species are born.
Climate change is also natural, this planet has had climates unable to sustain humain life without human pollution.

However I like the way the world is, trees, animals, etc, and technology is the only way to let it stay this way.

By understanding how things works and develloping new tools to act on them we will be able to exist forever.

We really just have 2 choices :

Live a life without technology and go extinct at some point.
Technology all the way and save our asses from the natural order.

India and China have large populations today because they started with larger populations thousands of years ago since ancient civilizations thrived in these regions.....What was the population of Europe and America 2000 years ago????.....Was it comparable with the population of India and China???? .....And once again, In the absence of Industrialization India and China would not be having large populations today.

If Industrialization had not happened, High death rate would have kept population of the world under control....Diseases caused by virus and bacteria would have kept population under control.....Feeding capacity of soil would have kept population under control....Shortage of food and water would have kept population under control.....Harsh Climatic Conditions would have kept population under control - People would not have been able to live in regions that are too hot or too cold.

If Industrialization had not happened this planet would have been in very good condition today.....There would be no overpopulation, no overconsumerism and only limited urbanization.

A Non-Industrial Society would have destroyed some ecosystems on the land [Forests] but Marine Ecology [Oceans] would have been almost 100% safe today......Forest Cover would be much greater than what it is now....Millions of species on the land and in the sea would not have been decimated and would be thriving with very healthy populations......This planet would be free of Billions of Tonnes of Metal Waste, Plastic Waste, Chemical waste, Gaseous Waste, eWaste and Nuclear Waste.....The Oceans wouldn't have become Acidic, Warmer and Oxygen Deprived because of Industrial Waste.

If animals had started a consumerist "Industrial Society" millions of years ago they would have destroyed all ecosystems millions of years ago.
