      Open Letter to Subconscious, WTF

I am pissed at my subconscious.

Here I am trying to learn through my dreams, not waste 7 hours of sleep, or just try to elevate my mood a bit. But NOOO my subconscious congers up the most pathetic array of dreams ever. So I say to myself "subconscious if you don't do something/anything to show me your even awake, I'm going to take it that you are not awake or just don't care." The result? Two nights of dreams that were even more pathetic.

      Let me explain

I try and ask for something like this

my subconscious gives me something like this

WTF subconscious? Really? This is the best you could do??? And there is no way this is somehow better for me. This is tantamount to a metaphysical middle finger.

I often feel like I am like this

and my subconscious is like this

I hear a lot from other people having the same problems. So really, should I be working with myself or forcing what I want to be done?

This is a very uneven relationship Subconscious. Maybe I don't see everything thats being done for me, that I can't see. Maybe I don't understand the whole picture but I can tell you that my dream world is way too suckie and my nights of wandering around parking lots looking for nonexistent cars is over. Don't bother getting up off the sofa Subconscious, I'll change the channel myself.

Hahaha. Gotta say that post was great. Sometimes I feel like my subconscious is working against me. Trying to keep me unaware, non-lucid! If it does anything, it's to annoy me and not let me be aware while I'm dreaming. PFFT! Well I'll show it a thing or two!

Yes exactly! Thanks for commiserating, misery and anger, love company.

I am thinking that the whole idea of the dream world being the realm of the subconscious is total bull. The subconscious is nothing without the conscious and that can best be shown in the dream state. Sure in our dreams the subconscious is the star of the show but everyone knows one man shows suck and so does our dream life without the conscious.

This is also proved by the flip side to all this, our waking life. Here the conscious self reigns supreme. However just like our dream life our waking life needs to be a balance. You can not be an all logic intellectual person and function in society. We all need our subconscious in our waking life giving us hunches, and gut feelings, those inspirational moments, even Mr. Spock had a hunch now and then. Such things are used more and are more important than we give them credit for.

We need to have a balance in both worlds for both worlds to be rewarding to us.

aaaaaaaWhat happens when you let the subconscious run amok.

That is an awfully pretty wall there, I don't see why your sub-conscious didn't give you it. JK

Heres what you do your next lucid dream:

      1. Ask the dream to send your sub-conscious in DC form.
      2. Tell Him/Her/It that you are not satisfied with how it is running things.
      3. Tell it how you want things to happen in your dreams.

There is no direct way to plant information into your head than telling it directly to your sub-conscious. This letter was a great start.

      Great post.
I feel kind of the same way when I am lucid and trying to do something, but the dream won't cooperate. I feel like my subconscious is being stubborn.
Maybe your subconscious is annoyed that you are not giving it the proper respect, or something.
      I dunno.
      It's all in your head.

We're in the same boat; I keep trying to prompt my subconscious with mantras so I'll dream about X but it just doesn't happen. I used to be able to do it easily but lately I haven't been able to manage it.

Yes I think one of the things with the subconscious (SC) is that much like us it has its own interests, sometimes it meshes with ours sometimes not.

Then there's the language barrier. We use words it uses symbols. We say "dream about me having a lot of money" but to your SC would only hear, or care, about the symbol of wealth vs poverty giving you a dream about being homeless maybe, and there would be a certain WTF moment even though it did what you asked. A lot gets lost in thew translations. I would say don't ask to dream "X" picture it instead and feel how it should feel.

Hope you have some success with your dreams.

You seem to be very visual. *looks at all the pretty pictures*

One of my dreamgoals is to speak to my subconscious.

I tried to make it more understandable that way but mostly I figured the subconscious would understand pictures more than my words, which it seems to have done.

Thanks, it worked to some extent. I'll try to imagine the feeling whenever practicing visualization from now on.
