I tried to get some friends into dreaming and lucid dreaming, but, as I explained the concept, they started laughing at me. They said that I was sick and childish. I believe that dreaming hasn't the magical meaning that had for the ancient Greeks (example). They have just become an optional, nothing to care about, because we have 'problems' to deal with, real life, work, school. So there is no one who i can talk with, except you guys from DreamViews. Actually I think that dreaming (for me, at least) could be that peaceful moment where you don't have to care about anything, so that you can escape from reality for a little bit, especially when you are a teenager who's having his typical teenage problems, but dreaming could be a fine hobby for everyone.

I think dreaming should be used by everyone. If they're there, then we should take advantage of them. But I think people get distracted really easily, and put things off and don't realise how incredible it is when you actually start remembering. It's a shame people just don't...

Probably because of fear of the unknown. People does not like to discuss about the unknown... as well as fear of being judged or even discriminated.

Dreaming is just another reality... like our waking life... nothing is fake, maybe even what is dreaming is more real than waking... But regardless of this, we cannot be in the dream plane forever, so we cannot stay in neither of these plans for ever, and many people deeply within themselves, fear this.

I believe dream speaks of wishes and desires we have hidden in our hearts and the moment those wishes are fulfilled in our dreams, the average person will brush it off and conclude it as silly. Maybe that's why nobody discuss about their dreams, they treat it as silly. They didn't realise their dreams gave them a chance for their wish to come true.

That's true. I use to wonder how people could not love to dance like I do. Their lives could not possibly be complete without learning how to dance or watch Walking Dead. lol

Now I know the source of this epic necro-post lol.

But indeed, it is about understanding that other people might have different hobbies than whatever you own hobbies are and to respect them the same way you like to be respected. That is the key for everybody.

Post up some vids with your dancing

You could always say to your friends that lucid dreaming is the ultimate hallucination/trip which you can even control.
      Works with my friends.

Because they don't know about it. When they know about it, they know that almost nobody does lucid dreaming, so they think about it as a crap. And why almost nobody does lucid dreaming? Because there are many misleading information and it is difficult to start. If somebody wanna play hockey, they know what to do to start. If somebody wants to lucid dreaming it is not that simple.

Like a few people said on here. Dreams tend to make people uneasy. Some dreams may reflect their fears, and doubts. There dreams might be embarrassing or childish to them or may reflect there true desires as a whole. Personally speaking, a lot of people don't tend to focus on being introspective or inquisitive about their dreams. Some would just rather take some pills so they won't have to see such things any more, and that's kinda sad. Though i have learned that the state of a persons mind also has an impact. A person that is more open minded or has a strong imagination , tend to embrace dreams more easily than a person, that's very serious, and prefer logistics and concrete concepts. So there very skeptical of lucid dreaming. Maybe thinking of it as New Age Nonsense. These are also the types that steer clear of psychologist . They believe if it isn't dealing with there daily routine in the waking world, then why bother to understand fleeting images and experience that manifest in there own mind... I feel sorry for these types.
