      RC failed!?

      Hi
Last night I had a dream that I realized it was a dream
But when I did Reality Check it failed.......
And after that I suddenly went to a false awakening
What is the best RC with lowest chance of failure?

The nose-plug RC is supposedly the most effective and never fails, however I've had three potential DILDs recently which failed because this RC didn't work. Last night something odd happened and I was certain I was dreaming but the RC didn't work, and I was so confused that I spent the rest of the dream thinking I was going insane

No RC is 100% . nose plug is close though. I would recommend doing 2 RCs! Using a hand RC (which is high %) with nose plug will give you a really low % chance of them failing. Remember that you have to believe in the RC though. Don't just do it without meaning. If you are pretty dang sure it is a dream I would recommend going to one of your goals if it isn't dangerous. Try summoning fire or flying away or changing the dream scene. If it happens, obviously it is a dream. good luck.

RCs can fail, especially when you use them incorrectly IRL (e.g. just doing an RC whenever instead of when you are suspicious that you are dreaming). What I tend to do is double or triple check that I am dreaming via the nose plug. If all of them fail, I look at my hands to see if they are deformed, and if they are normal I try to put my finger through my hand. If THAT fails (and it hasn't yet, I haven't gotten past the double check yet) I try to do something impossible in reality. If I can't do anything like that yet i'm sure I am dreaming anyway, I just do random dream crap.

Doesn't this belong in another section, though? This forum is about non-lucid dreams yet the thread is about LDing.

Funny thing is this morning's dream, I realized my bathroom was rearranged. I did the nose plug RC several times, but I was able to breathe. I was expecting not to, but I expected that if I couldn't, then I was dreaming. So it was backwards. Instead of becoming lucid, I ended up saying, "This isn't a dream" and proceeded. Darn!

yeah, dreams have been that realistic where RC have failed, I personally do not do any reality checks I just realize i am dreaming.
