We talked about this in one of our podcasts. |

For me it varies. I've had dreams that seem to span days and I've had dreams that seem to track pretty tightly with how time passes while awake. |

Thanks for the clarifications. How can I never thought of this at all? Dumb me. I am surprised that an administrator cared to give response on this topic. Thank you. |

I don't think it's as simple as skipping bits. I had an experience when young where I deliberately fainted (don't ask!), but I know I was only out for about 1 second (others witnessed it), but in that time I had a vivid dream where I was on a train station platform watching a train coming in. It seemed to last for at least 2 minutes. What seemed like normal time for me was crammed into about 1 or 2 seconds of real time. |

Well I've always heard dreams always last 2-3 seconds in real life, no matter how long they feel. |

For often, when one is asleep, there is something in consciousness which declares that what then presents itself is but a dream. ~Aristotle
