Lightbulb Reality checks do not always apply!

Many of us lucid dreamers have surely tried several reality checks in a dream, they work but not always. In a dream you can manipulate the physics, create or summon people, things and etc but when your dream is strongly built of sheer reality, it is not easy to be broken.
I have had several lucid dreams in which I tried the reality checks, they did follow the physics so it prevented me from realization of my dream. Trying to get my hands through a wall, spinning my ring, trying to levitate on the air, checking my digital watch twice... they acted just like they do in reality. Not only the aforementioned checks followed the rules, the surroundings were empty of abnormalities as well.
Have you ever had such complications in your dreams?

Doing thing like trying to levitate arn't very good reality checks because you don't think you can actualy do it and spinning your ring like the top in inception probably wont work either. The reality checks that are generaly the most reliable for most people are the changing letters or numbers, the noes pinch RC were you pinch your nostrals shut and try breathing through your noes. If it is a dream you will almost always be able to breath and the looking at your hands RC. I have had the noes pinch RC glitch up on me when I'm not sure if it is working right or not but by that point Im already lucid. Usualy just thinking about an RC or if it is a dream or not is good enough to make me lucid.

I have honestly never done a reality check. I always either know im dreaming or I dont. I did look at my fingers once and counted them and 11 showed up because I was like hey these people on dreamviews said that you dont always have the right number of fingers in a dream and this is a dream so lets see. haha thats funny. then my hands went back to normal
I accept that my reality is always a dream so if something changes I know I'm right.

I can count on one hand the time's that I've spontaneously done a reality check and discovered that I'm dreaming. Usually I just know I'm dreaming and do a reality check to confirm. There's been a few times though where I was 100% sure I was awake, did a reality check and realized I was dreaming haha.

You have to choose a RC that will never follow physics of reality.... I have chosen the digital watch check and it never works normally when I do the check. I think it has to do with my OCD..I'm never certain of what I see or check in real life especially numbers so I usually check several times when I'm checking data and I guess that rubbed into the dream as changing numbers but it only works with the digital watch ...not analog watch or numbers printed on somewhere in the dream those are stable and do not change.

What if I told you I have checked a zillion of RCs in a single dream but nothing applied! The mentioned RCs were just a couple of them. Pinching my nose was one of them, after a few seconds I felt I was dying and I woke up

Wow you must have had a really long dream to do a zillion RCs! Ive only been able to do a nonillion or two. You are pobably either not doing RCs that actualy work or are not doing them right. Make sure you do estabilised RCs that people have found reliable and not just things youve seen in movies or things that you think might be posible in a dream. They work different for everyone and you should find the ones that work best for you. Make sure you actualy stop and think about whether or not you are dreaming. Try and remember waking up that morning or what you were doing an hour ago. You have to have the mentality that unless proven otherwise you are dreaming. Just the act of thinking about wether or not you are dreaming should trigger your lucidty. Just use the RCs to confirm it.

The thinking of what you were doing an hour ago or trying to remember when you woke up might not work. If I try to think of the previous day in a dream my dream will give me memories of what happened even if it never did and I never dreamed of it.

heh, RCs can fail just so much. In most of my dreams, I can only work with gravity as my RC and only that. Can't breath through my nose, can't use "poke hand with finger", count fingers, pain or memory. It happens quite a bit <.<
