I think i may have discovered a brilliant shapeshifting method!

The other night i had a DILD. I became lucid once i saw the moon in the sky, from within my house, speeding across the sky.

As i became lucid i decided to attempt to transform myself into a werewolf. At first i just thought about transforming into a werewolf but i did not get very far. All that happened was that my fingers became longer. But i then thought that i should act like a werewolf while thinking about becoming one. So i decided to put my theory to work.

I found my dad in one of the rooms in my house. I decided to attack him like a werewolf (i don't hate my dad!) by scratching him to death on the ground. As i finished the attack, i looked at myself in the mirror on the wall. I was now a werewolf. I even looked at my hands, they were that of a werewolf as well. I even managed to smile in the mirror in my werewolf form.

Has anyone else tried a similar method? I don't think i recall reading any shape shifting methods that involve what i did.

Sometimes I just imagine that I'm already whatever I wanted to shapeshift into, or use expectations to envision myself as [insert creature/object here]. It works very well.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

This is similar to conjuring objects. Lets say you want a gun. Clasp your hands as if you are holding one. Even pull the imaginary trigger. It doesn't matter if you see it or not, it works... You may notice that it is the will, not the physical appearance of the object that does the work.

PS. Attacking your dad as a werewolf would make Freudian psychologists ecstatic in their dream interpretation

Pull a gun out of that holster on your leg. You put it on a few hours ago, remember?
*Takes hold of newly, totally passive-summoned gun*

While Freud is widely renowned for inventing modern psychology/psychopathology, he had some... odd ideas about the sexual development of children. The culmination of his more leftfield ponderings was the 'Oedipal Complex' that develops in children around the age of five and resurfaces at 15, so-called after the ancient greek legend of Oedipus who unknowingly murdered his father and slept with his mother.

It's also worth noting that dream analysis makes up a significant part of psychodynamic theory and Freud proposed that the symbolism of dreams hold the key to conflicts that have been repressed into the sub-conscious. As Ev said, psychiatrists would have a field day with your dream of attacking your father as a wolf. (eg. It's interesting that you had to qualify you attacking your father by saying 'I don't hate my dad', perhaps you are in denial?)

Sorry for making that remark in the first place. It was a joke about Freud's ideas of silly one sided dream interpretation, not about you, wolf.

It's not a can of worms it's generally a good idea to open, I'm not implying anything about your relationship with your parents.

Well, i sometimes do not get on with my dad. But for the most part we are ok.

But i really think we should discuss this shapeshifting method, not the relationship with my father.

Lol that's messed up u attacked your dad. But to each it's own. In reality you are not your physical body you are pure consciousness formless in the astral dream scape you are whatever u perceive yourself
To be the action of being a werewolf changed your perception of what u are. I can't help but think of teen wolf the R version lol

Yep, behaving like the creature you want to become is often a highly effective method for shape-shifting when willpower alone doesn't work.

In reality you are not your physical body you are pure consciousness formless in the astral dream scape you are whatever u perceive yourself
"In reality" was a confusing phrase to start the sentence with because it gives the impression that you are talking about waking life (you aren't right?). But yeah, what you are saying is correct (if I am understanding it correctly). The dream body is only what you perceive it to be. It can be changed at will.

I think he was referring to something much deeper than what you think he said when he said in reality. I wonder if i'm right about this and if i am i still wonder what experiences validated this to him.
Anyway for today i'm willing to believe we are pure consciousness formless in the astral plane. Just because my dreams have been so much like my waking life lately i'm having a lot of trouble remembering if yesterday was real or a dream....

To discuss the shapeshifting method - I was a bird a once in a regular dream, and have morphed my body (still human). I've never transformed into another kind of creature. I think this would be an awesome thing to do, if done with good awareness and feeling associated with that. Although I also enjoy being a lucid dreamer, able to control the world around me
