      Quick Question

hello!, i just started out trying to get lucid dreams i have a dream journal and im at the point where i can remember most of my dreams but only little bits of each one. i havent had a lucid dream yet but sometimes in my dreams i will know im dreaming but i cant control anything.. im just watching myself do things and i know im dreaming the whole time. is that a step? or is there something i have to do to be able to control my dreams, also should i be remembering everything about all my dreams? because i only remmber fragments and sounds. any tips will help thanks!.

Trust me, if you truly know you are dreaming, you will have control often too much and you will wake up due to excitement!
      Heres my recommendation post bit...

I advise you try this structure
This is in the order that I think is best done!
Start Dream Journal (Improve Recall) > Reality Check in the day + All Day Awareness > DILD > Mantra before bed > MILD > stay still when you wake up > DEILD.

Just keep focusing on your recall everyday, and choose a technique you will stick with. If you think the technique isn't working, at least keep at it for about a month, and then you can switch to another one. Good luck!

If you know you're dreaming while you're in the dream, you ARE having a lucid dream. The problem is, lucid dreaming doesn't necessarily mean dream control--dream control is a separate skill you'll have to learn. It comes with practice, just like LDing. You might try visualization or verbal commands to start with and see if that helps any.

Read my comment in this thread: http://www.dreamviews.com/f12/best-t...8/#post1749885

But in summary: You don't need to remember everything from your dreams, just the feeling of dreaming itself. You will gradually become more aware of how your dreams feel like, and eventually you will be so aware that you become lucid. No technique can make you lucid, they can only make you try to be more aware and believe in yourself. The rest YOU have to discover.
But the techniques is a good way to start out.
