How good is the subconcious memory?

Some background info: If you want the question fast skip to the next paragraph.
I don't have much time to practice, but I take piano lessons. My teacher is frusterated, but my parents won't let me quit.

What I'm wondering, is if I study the song for a few minutes, hard, would I remember it enough, to practice it in my dreams? Just curious.

I think this is one of those nice ideas that maybe if you were a extremely a good LDer you could do. The thing is you could be playing it wrong in your dream and it would play it right in your mind and you wouldn't know. Music wise, I think LDing is a lot more useful for coming up with new songs, sounds, muscial ideas...

It depends from person to person, try it out
it could happen to others, when it doesn't happen to certain people as well, it might be a confidence thing as well, how clear the dream is, etc.

Do you own a piano? It would obviously be alot more effective just practicing IRL.
I don't think it's worth it, most likely won't work, and there's so much more you could be doing

Frustrated mentor, the problem is not on memory but on passion me thinks.
But anyway, you don't need to study that hard to practice it in a lucid, just make sure to 1) Leave the placebo of not-reading out, you can read 2) Stabilize before starting or then it might not be placebo and 3) Enjoy it, in dreams you can make anything happen, so for someone like me I would make the piano song be a weapon, that way if I play it properly there will be an epic fight, just device your stuff properly.

It wouldn't hurt to try it out and experiment with it. I have been interested in this for a while. Is it possible to relive a moment in your life you don't remember well through your dreams with almost every detail? I'm going to be experimenting with this in the future. I have also used lucid dreaming to help me study for tests and quizzes xD.

You should definitely try. Don't rely on anything useful coming from the attempt, but you might be surprised. I am amazing at pretending to be a musician in my dreams, even though I have never played a musical instrument.
