      Dream World

      Greetings dreamers !

I made this post to ask you guys (and girls) if this is something normal, does it happen to everybody else, or is someone in the same situation as me..

Every time i have a dream (lucid or not) i am in the same town.. I didn't mean to create that town, but EVERY dream happens inside of it, just on different locations..

It ALWAYS looks the same ! Same buildings, houses, streets.. I have even made a map that i keep on my laptop.. The thing is, even when i am not lucid, i somehow KNOW where to go, where what street is located, etc..

I have found out, that all my dreams were actually connected, and that when i follow those streets, they take me to a HUGE crossroad, with some circles (look like car tires) half way in the ground, and there is an old man who i asked for directions before (where my school is) and he would point his finger (he does not talk).. He is always there..

When i get lucid, i walk around the town, just so i would find out some new areas to draw on my map.. Like i said, i did not CREATE anything in it ! It is just the way it is..

So ummm.. tell me what this means, is it normal or not, and is anyone in the same situation as me ? it would help a lot !

      Thank-you :3 !

Well first off that is a definite dream sign! Affirm to yourself you will know you are in a dream when you're in this town! (and the old man that is there)
That's definitely interesting though....but yeah, like I said, it's a total dreamsign which can help you a ton to get lucid

I am on the same situation, but for me it was induced. I never stay in the same planet for long enough to make maps though.
As Erii said, you can use it as a dream sign and a RC too, have you tried travelling further than the town?

Well, this has not happened to me so for me it seems yes, slightly unusual. It's quite interesting though, and I have had dreams before say one or two or three dreams in the same fictional place my subconscious made up, but there were only, as I said, a couple of them. Have you tried leaving the town? It'd be interesting to see what is in your dreamworld apart from that town.
A change of scenery never hurt anyone. I think.

@Hukif @Mystycal / Well.. No i haven't tried leaving it yet.. My next lucid dreaming goal could be to travel outside of the town.. but i don't see the point of it.. I would rather get to know it more, it would be better, don't you think ?

@Erii the problem is it looks and feels similar to the town i live in.. there is no weird stuff going on.. so i can't get myself to do a RC..

So what i do is, when ever i switch places, or have a walk, i try being totally aware during that walk, and do a few RC.. But.. meh..
Maybe i will post a map in a few days , (need to resketch it) because the one i drew is ugly and in MS paint xD !

Who knows, I never stay in the same place... generally just read about it using a dream power to know about the place <.<
And lol you need to RC more, the awereness is good but yeah, if its similar it will be hard.

@Hukif That's a good power you have there.. (i might steal it xD).. Well i don't feel like leaving it, it is like my second world..
@Carlos Does he talk xD ? And ummm.. where is he located ?

well my philosophy is that we are all in one dreamworld, but just on different places, and that we maybe see other dreamers, but we think they are just dream characters.. everyone should have a town on his own ^^.. it's funny what you can do when you get to know it better..

@areyoume Sure thing mate.. see you tonight .. So you get to the crossroad, ask him for directions, and then if you keep following that road, you will see a lot of tents (like in Harry Potter) then some pyramids, walk up the looong road, (the road is floating), and you will see the park ahead.. You see the school in the park, then just go one street up from that , and turn right..

That's the street i live in..

      Vortaix,
If you are more interested in continuing to explore the town than leaving it, continue to do so - you must be returning there for a reason. Just think outside the box in terms of your exploration. Remember, the dream world physics don't have the same constraints as WR and you aren't limited to just walking down streets. Try flying over the town, going underground, opening a secret passage inside a building, or try jumping into those circles (maybe they are portals). Next time you are lucid, ask out loud why you are in this town (or any other question) and see what happens.

@Strit Well like i said, the part of the town i LIVE in feels the same as normal world.. But yes there a some weird structures you can see now and then, but i can't get to do a RC when i notice them ^^ .. (and i don't always see them, or walk by them)..

@hermine_hesse Yeah i think there might be a reason.. I was roaming those streets since i was little, and my mind kept connecting all those dreams and places, and somehow it made a town.. About the tires in the ground.. When i woke up, i thought they might be some kind of portals, but always when i got lucid, i didn't get to check it out.. The first thing i will do when i get lucid is ask someone where am i, and why am i here, what the town is called, and find about its history..

About the pyramids and the tents.. those were 2 dreams, and and in a third dream, when i was riding my bike down the road, i saw both the tents and the pyramids on my way to school.. So ummm.. I think it's growing bigger, or i am just exploring the world, and connecting pieces like a puzzle piece by piece.. >.>'

Thanks for sharing your opinion with me people .. It really means a lot.

That may be because they're not always there.

Most likely, you are dreaming of your town because you live in that town (I often dream about the town where I spent my teenage years, instead of the one I'm living in now, because I was much more active outside in the town, at that time, than I am now), and though many of the images and concepts are recurring dream signs, you're only noticing them when they are there, but not even thinking about them, when they're not there. This fools you into think they are always there, and gives the 'place' you're in more of a 'permanent' feel to it.

The more you go into these dreams with the expectation that you're going to encounter the same objects, surroundings and people, the more likely it is to happen. Just remember to note the inconsistencies you do find very carefully, so as not to falsely convince yourself that you're visiting a permanent place in (or out of) space/time, which you most likely aren't.

@Oneironaut Zero Hmmmmm.. It actually makes sense.. So what you are saying, when something randomly appears in that certain town, i expect it to appear again in a next dream, and because of that it does appear ? Heh ^^ .. So it looks like i am actually building the town as the time ticks by ?

      Exactly.

Of course, there are many people who believe that dreams do take place in some other space/time, where things are 'real' and absolute, so it's going to depend on who you ask. But my personal opinion is that your familiarity with the content, and your expectation of things that 'should' be there (conscious or not), are helping to make those landmarks and concepts occur more often.

I can relate. I used to play so much Animal Crossing in 03 that I had themed dreams were I would walk around a forest village. No old man, just close friends and lots of fruit trees.
