Lucid dreaming didn't seem that great....

I had a lucid dream last night. I remembered reading up on reality checks and remembered to check my hand in the dream. I couldn't see any lines on my palm and my fingers were indistinguishable from each other. The blur of them almost looked like they were moving or floating from side to side, like they were distorting. I decided to put myself on Jamaica.

I was on the beach, I decided to have sex with a pretty girl I saw on said beach. We went to this small room and it wasn't that great. The dream itself wasn't that great. I felt absolutely no feeling during sex, no emotion towards the beautiful place I was in, and it just didn't seem that great as everybody makes it out to be.

Why do you on here seem to enjoy this so much? Was I doing something wrong? Has anybody ever felt like I did during a lucid dream, and can I change this?

OP here again, let me also add the backstory leading up to this dream. I was dreaming I was in my house and several men broke in. They all had guns, but I did subdue them all without even a scratch. I thought that there was no way I could ever have done that in reality, so I knew I was dreaming, and that was when I placed myself in the dream above.

Not all lucid dreams are stable or detailed. Some can be really crappy while some LDs can be extremelly rich in details (sometimes even more real than real life). I guess sometimes it's just about luck. But you can also use some techniques to help make the dream more vivid. Engaging your senses (Eating food, smelling flowers, feeling the wind on your hair, etc) is a good way to stabilize the dream.
You'll understand why we enjoy it so much when you have a vivid LD. Just keep trying and you will have one. I've had some really beautifull LDs myself. Hope I was of some help and this serves as incentive for you to continue LDing!

The quality will vary greatly from dream to dream. Try again and be careful not to let this disappointment carry into future lucids. When people say lucid dreams can feel as real is reality they aren't exaggerating.

It sounds like you didn't stabalize, next time take a moment to look around, and rub your hands. If the world is blurry, shout "Lucidity, stabalize!" Works great for me.
Take your time, and next time I reccomend you don't have sex, it's kind of a waste. (I know, I know, I'm terrible at this ;P But yeah, it feels great, but there are amazing things you can be doing!
      Try flying, next time.
      Then, try to eat something.
THen, try throwing a fireball, or air bend.
These are all things that involve alot of sensation, this should help you interact alot more!

      You have to stabilize.
I'm also having this problem where I forgot to stabilize.

Hey I think of it like this, in the daytime I spend my time in reality and doing things such as work, eat, etc. And in the nighttime I become superman flying, having sex, becoming God, the activities are endless.

And I wonder why you didnt feel any emotion, it could be your view of dreams. In my dreams I feel emotion, pain, joy, the same as in reality because that is how I see dreams, the same thing as reality. The things that do ruin a lucid dream are the length, but that can be worked on and improved.

Lucid dreams range from low level lucids to epic lucidity. Most of the people are excited about epic lucidity and forget to tell you that to get there, you will have to go through mediocre lucids.

I stared the heck at my hand until they exploded and the LD just won't stabilize.

I wouldn't call it 'useless' - it just depends on the person, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
