Is This An Important DC? (For Me)

Last Night I had two lucid dreams, (record) and in both dreams they were cut short my a mysterious younger male, who said i wasnt supposed to lucid dream because a member of my family is already a lucid dreamer and actually got me to wake up somehow. He just feels important, he seems like a LDer himself but i know he's just a dc. He just felt different (hard to explain) different than any dream character then ive ever seen..... He said he had some type of position like dreamwacther or somthing like that...

Is this a Dream Charater I should keep my eyes out for and attempt to meet again?

      Thanks

If they seemed important to you in the dream, then they are important to you, right? I mean, I'm new to lucid dreaming myself, and have never heard of dream watchers, but maybe this dream character was testing your determination? Or maybe just trying to get your attention? There's no reason why you can't lucid dream even if your other family members do it too (my mom claims to lucid dream, though she never told me anything about it until I brought it up, and we've never had any dream watchers tell us we cant ) I'd say next time your lucid, tell him dream watchers don't exist and ask him what he really is! If he's another dreamer maybe he's just messing with you, or if he's a DC maybe he's symbolizing a fear of not being able to get lucid. The whole b/c there's a lucid dreamer in the family you can't lucid dream thing just sounds like an excuse to keep you from doing something awesome

There exists a character in each person called a Dream Guide. This particular character you are describing could be your Dream Guide. The Dream Guide in each person's dreams is like Morpheus in The Matrix.

Notice him, get to know him, learn from him.

This DC seems to be testing your determination as mydera said. I have a small belief in shared dreaming which this might be a sort of experience of it. You should ask some people in your family if they lucid dream or not to find out whether this DC was telling the truth or if he was just your sub-conscious throwing obstacles at you. I have noticed that my DCs don't really like that I can be lucid and have actually had them divert me away from lucidity when I am close to it. So my opinion on this is that it is your sub conscious playing with you and next time you see him you should tell him he is nothing but a projection of yourself and that he can not stop you from lucid dreaming, then see what his reaction is.

I'm 99% sure my family doesn't Lucid dream. I know my sister learned about it, but that's it.

Then it seems your sub-conscious is just testing how determined you are to lucid dream.

2 in one night? Nice! And i agree with everyone else

It's just your brain messing with you. If you believe in shared dreaming and dream guides, ect. then this could be important for you. If not, id say keep going like normal.

I'm pretty much with ryman here: it's your dream, it's your mind, and (to add my own belief) it's your decision to believe in Dream Guides.
I, for one, have found no evidence for DG's, even though they do seem to be a common phenomenon.

Carpe somnium! "Seize the dream!" (Well, "Enjoy the dream" to be literal, but you get the point. )
Try to imagine a life without timekeeping. You probably can’t. You know the month, the year, the day of the week; you have a schedule, a calendar... Yet all around you, timekeeping is ignored. Birds are not late. A dog does not check its watch. Deer do not fret over passing birthdays. Man alone measures time. Man alone chimes the hour. And, because of this, man alone suffers a paralyzing fear that no other creature endures.
A fear of time running out.

I read this elsewhere on the sight.
Though it isnt bad for you I think your subconcious see's that when you realize your dreaming it is unnatural because your suppose to think a dream is real. I read a similar thing happening to other people on the forum but your DC can attempt to tell you your not dreaming. For example, this one guy had a dream where he coughed up a tooth and realized he was dreaming. A dream character said "this isnt a dream" and proceeded to cough up a tooth and then the guy became un-lucid.

Maybe this mysterious character is some type of dream guide or maybe its a determination thing. I suggest you keep lucid dreaming, if the dream watch was true i think alot more people here would of encountered. Your mind makes up cool things.
