      My first lucid experience

The other night I experienced lucidity in a dream for the first time. The effect was far more subtle than I had anticipated. It started as a dream where I was in this city, and some gigantic mechanical creature was tearing down buildings. I remember thinking to myself about all the people that must have been in those buildings. It was too terrible for me to believe...
...and then suddenly I realized I didn't have to believe it at all. I vaguely realized that nothing around me was real. Any fear I had vanished, and I began to exert control over the world for the first time. What I performed was "steering". Somehow it was like I could guide the plot of my dreamscape. I made the giant creature walk away from the city and avoid buildings. It was pretty awesome.

Unfortunately, being in control of a skyscraper-sized titan raised some red flags in my head. I couldn't make the creature take more than a couple steps before the dream collapsed and I awoke. Still, not bad for my first time.

Congrats on the lucid! The first few you have probably aren't going to be very long nor very vivid but don't worry, they'll improve as you go on as will their frequency. You first experience sounds awesome though . A tip to help with massive, superhuman feats such as controlling a giant monster is to constantly remind yourself that it's a dream and you can do whatever you want. You aren't bound by any laws of reality, only your imagination. This should help the next time you end up trying something huge such as controlling a skyscraper-sized titan.

Yea, not bad at all. One of my first lucid experiences was similar to that except for instead of a giant monster I just stopped a car that I was in from crashing by steering it onto a ramp I made. Now for your next lucid dream you just have to work on some stability and you can have not collapse.

Pretty lucky for your first LD! Congrats. My first lasted about 8 seconds No control at all, don't ever let yourself get annoyed because of lack of control. It's a skill to practice

Try to use passive control if you're struggling with your confidence, like trick away the giant instead of actively trying to mind control him Congrats on your cool first lucid!
