Congrats on the lucid! The first few you have probably aren't going to be very long nor very vivid but don't worry, they'll improve as you go on as will their frequency. You first experience sounds awesome though |

The other night I experienced lucidity in a dream for the first time. The effect was far more subtle than I had anticipated. It started as a dream where I was in this city, and some gigantic mechanical creature was tearing down buildings. I remember thinking to myself about all the people that must have been in those buildings. It was too terrible for me to believe... |

Yea, not bad at all. One of my first lucid experiences was similar to that except for instead of a giant monster I just stopped a car that I was in from crashing by steering it onto a ramp I made. Now for your next lucid dream you just have to work on some stability and you can have not collapse. |

Pretty lucky for your first LD! Congrats. My first lasted about 8 seconds |

Try to use passive control if you're struggling with your confidence, like trick away the giant instead of actively trying to mind control him |
