Effects of schools exams on dreaming?

My attempts at lucid dreaming and recalling dreams have revealed to me a trend in my recall. It seems that whenever major exams roll around i get a dry spell and my recall gets greatly reduced Does anyone else experience this?

Well, it could be because the exams might make you too busy to pay attention to lucid dreaming.
Besides, exams are often stress, which is never good.

I have another theory. When you are learning or studying the conversion fromshort term to long term memory is accomplished by an infinite repition of information in the part of the brain that dreams. You can actually witness the process as dreams sometimes. These dreams are the ones where all night long you are repeating the same action or studying the same notes, over and over.

Maybe not everyone can witness the process, but if you have had these dreams you will know what I mean.

Random theory, maybe when studying, your brain is too busy using the dream center to store info, leaving little or no time for other dreams.

That is definitely a possibility! One night my roommate spend hours studying chemistry and i actually heard him reciting the polyatomic ions in his sleep! It was extremely funny.

I never stress about exams and am always really busy (no time to really do much of anything with FT job and school). I have about 4 or 5 dreams a night, I don't really reflect on school when I am done with it. I just do whatever school is there. I study until I feel prepared for the test and think "I studied then, so I don't have to worry about it at all now."

I feel like what you are thinking about a lot through the day effects your dreams sometimes, so since I barely even think about school when I am doing it (sermons in the background ) That is why I don't have dreams about school.

I had my first lucid because of school lol. i had a dream where i was going to be late for class and no one in my family seemed to care that i had no way to get to school, and then i suddenly realized that i am never late for classes and all the DCs were lying to me. It was amazing. The lucidity hit me like a wave of adrenaline putting me in a good mood for days. Idk how your school program is but mine is really stressful because they require a strict minimum gpa or i will get kicked out of the program plus i am already 60000 in debt fml. I wish i could approach school the same way you do, life would be alot less stressfull.

You can. If you need to get something done then just do it asap, don't put anything off. After you are done with it then don't even think about it since you are done. Remember that there is nothing keeping you from being the very best at whatever you are learning.schedule everything with lots of time to spare. I try and give myself 30 minutes in between every activity to chill. So when you schedule everything (including hanging with friends with time to spare, you won't be in a hurry. Whatever you are doing think only of that. If it is school, you are thinking about school, work, work, friends, friends. Sleep 8 hours a night. May seem impossible , but it makes you do school much faster. Studied have shown that if you sleep enough only the parts of your brain concerning the thing you are working on activate. I can getpost more about the study if you are interested, I am on my phone now, so typing a lot is hard.

When im super busy with Uni i'll wont have any traditional dreams. I will see formulas and theorems pass by my perspective like close captions on a tv. This will go on all night. Sometimes i catch myself trying to solve problems in my sleep. Sometimes when im in the process of waking up i am thoroughly upset due to the fact i couldn't figure out an equation. Then the more awake i become the more logically i think and i end up saying to myself "wtf am i doing? Why do i even care?" Its frustrating because it happens so often.

I will definitely try to take that advice, college is just very good at getting in the way of things lol. Hopefully i can get my recall back up for christmas break so i will be able to perform some of the more interesting techniques over break. That has to be annoying evo, sleep is supposed to be a chance to get away from school and work lol. The only type of dreams i have about school usually just involve me being late for a class or a test.
