POLL:would you trade your life for lucid dreams

I mean you get to stay in a lucid dream for the rest of your life no need for dream stabbelization(did I spell it right)no need for inducing. And remember lucid dreams are like the real world just a different dimention.

      Moved to General Lucid

I wouldn't, because my body would die from dehydration in a few days. And that would be the end of my dream.

I would never do that. Too damn predictable. You know everything in the dream is based on expectations, it wouldn't take long before nothing would happen without you knowing it before hand.

To cherish the good moments in life, you need bad ones to compare them to. Same with LD's, having them too often would make them lose their special status.

      I would.
The only thing that would hold me back is the sorrow of my granddad and brother if I died.

Dreams are not only based on expectations, it's also expecting or unexpecting. Usually my dreams now are not expected, i only know it was expected AFTER i wake up and interpret my own dream. During the dream there are times that i really don't know what's going on in my dreams, which is happening recently.

I'd lose my marbles..., so no. Wouldn't you miss the companionship of your fellow human beings? I know I would.

Edit: I might trade my life for a massive shared lucid dream. Idk, something to ponder.

You may think I am crazy. What think is that lucid dreaming is another reality, for example if you tell someone that they are in your dream they most probably refuse to believe it and think you crazy.Thats how normal people would react. And what if we didn't have the sense to feel, see, hear, smell and taste we would not have connection with world. So what makes reality better then lucid dreaming.I think they two different dimentions we are able to enter. What if people we kill in lucid dreams are from another dimention?

I don't see how people could consider THIS crazy, yet consider the worshipers of a Jewish zombie (Christians) to be perfectly sane...

I actually wondered for a while if lucid dreams are actually a trip to a dimension in which you have full control...

I really wouldn't mind which I lived in, what most are failing to notice is that we wuld adapt, we would only feel shit if we compared it to real life but if you actually took 2 minutes to think about it you would realise that if this was your reality you would determine how it went. Most likely you would eventually fall into a routine as it is human nature, and find someone to spend your life with (or multiple people). We only think it would be boring because of the long time span involved but there is sufficient variation in a dream if you let it go its own way and assuming you've lived in the real world long enough to have a large amount of things to pick out.
I would probably invent my own language and laws to the unniverse, maybe even have a few jobs, do some DJing.
The more I think about it, the more normal it seems. I recently found out that I classify myself as an existential nihilist meaning that I don't believe in a meaning for life which couples nicely with my belief that your subjective reality is what you make of it, you would not get lonely if you realized that dream characters are just as worthy to talk to since it is no longer truly a dream.

As much as I love dreams, no I wouldn't. I'm still young and have my goals/ambitions. I want to go to college, become a surgeon, grow old, etc. I couldn't give up all of that just for dreams. I agree with Matte on this one. It would probably get boring after a while.

Oh, sorry, it's just my opinion it's just that I don't see why Christians can be accepted so easily while some people are called crazy for having "alternative" beliefs on everyday things.

So that's what it's called! I'm the same, I hear all these beautiful ideas for what life is, and I've come to the conclusion that there is no meaning. The fact that life itself exists is interesting, comparing it to all the other non living things in the universe and how one rock must have just somehow developed a stray strand of DNA, later evolving into cells. People seem to overlook these things that can suggest that life was created randomly. I am of the belief that I would rather live then eternally grapple with the idea of why I should live.

I completely agree, whenever you try to find a purpose for life it seems to just add more and more complications until you are eventually left with something that makes no sense. Off course that does not mean that you shouldn't use what life offers you, I just don't think that humans need justification for wanting to seek happiness and fullfillment. To me the fact that we feel good with these feelings is enough of a reason.

If I had some pre-made alternate universes, such as a Harry Potter one,a alternate version of my normal life and able to create more, and one where I had full control, almost deity-like,I would.
I have personal reasons of my own, though I do find life to be beautiful and exciting, mine is depressing most of the time.

You mean constantly be in a dream state of constantly lucidity and perfect control? Hell yes. Sure you could say I might miss companionship of other humans, but for all we know reality is in fact one massive dream. I could actually be the only being in existence with deity powers and out of a need for companionship I created a falls reality and people are in fact just fragments of my own consciousness. Do I actually believe this? No but I always entertain the possibility because you never know. What was I talking about? You might say that constantly living in a dream would get boring because you don't experience the highs and lows of life, but in my experience dream, much like psychedelics, completely change your way of thinking where you can truly appreciate the beauty of things with out have to experience the low points. And even if this wasn't the case I could always wipe my memory that I'm in a dream and live out my existence in the wonderfully crazy dream world.

      tl;dr fuck yes!

I wouldn't. Probably much better having one every night, than living in one. I mean, even if we don't like how life is and how reality is taken seriously, it's still the normal dimension which we were made to live in.
