      Motivation

Hey guys. So i have only had 2 lucid dreams and they were very weak. I want to get lucid more often but i have a couple problems. One problem is that my dream recall is inconsistent. This is pretty discouraging actually. That leads me to my next problem. I constantly have trouble staying motivated because this is hard work and results arent easy to come by. Does anybody have any ideas on how to stay more motivated?

      Thanks

O yea and maybe dream recall tips?

I'd say that if you haven't already then join DVA. Just keeping a workbook and getting fedback and ideas from others is a HUGE boost to motivation. General Lucid Dreaming (Matte87)
Intro Class (OpheliaBlue RareCola CanisLucidus Chimpertainment Xanous)

Also try doing one of the Tasks Of The Month or Join one of Matte87's Competitions or Lucidity Tasks Clubs. Matte87 has a lot for motivation IMO. Or you can try setting your own short term goals. The more goals you complete the more motivated you feel.

For recall make sure you keep some method of recording at least a few words or sentences by your bedside. So with each awakening you can jot down a few key words and get back to sleep. Also, I think this thread is pretty awesome. http://www.dreamviews.com/dream-sign...ml#post1357389

      Good luck!

Hey! I just changed my signature to answer most of your questions. It is really threads that I made that I like to read over and over about LDing. Because I am crazy.

Lucid encouragement is about what to watch/read/listen in order to stay motivated for LDing.

How to effectively dream journal is ways to get your recall to the max and figuring what lucid dreaming techniques work for you. It can be paired with this thread:
      Dream Recall

What is the single most important thing for LDs is about... well, the most important thing to LD. It isn't about technique! Check out what some of the veterans of LDing on this site, and well, my input.

It is a lot of reading, but it is some really great stuff and reading has been a huge part of LDing, since there is a lot to learn.

Robinsal, hello from me as well. I have joined DV a week ago and was very happy as this place has really lots of information on LD. You have all possible techniques to try so if one thing doesn't work, another surely will. The best thing perhaps is that there are lot of people here who are really enthusiastic , posting comments, giving tips, so that you can compare experiences. Some had LDs before DV, some not, and I am sure that with some practice you can certainly develop good dream recall and LD skills. Read some of the links the guys posted. Start a handy DJ and write anything that comes to memory, even if it is nothing at all, and be sure to congratulate yourself on every little step you make. The more important dreaming becomes for you, the more you will remember it. Good luck and have sweet dreams!

      Yo.
To add to what everyone else said, reading other people's dream journals on dreamviews can help with motivation as well, and check out this thread too: http://www.dreamviews.com/general-lu...cid-dream.html
