Did I have an OBE, or maybe was it a form of lucid dream?

A couple of months ago something happened to me that I can't explain and I'm not exactly knowledgeable on what obe's are, but one night I went to sleep as usual and my sister was on the computer in the living room as usual. I woke up in the middle of the night and wanted to go get water from the fridge so I got up and made it to the door then got sucked back to my bed. It frightened me so I ran for my door again to talk to my sister so she could calm me down, I made it out of my room and right by my sister, but then I got sucked back to my bed. I tired again and got to my sister and yelled for her, but she ignored me like I wasn't there, then I felt the presence of something massive and it had malice towards me, I couldn't look I was so afraid, then the thing without touching me made me toss into the air and I just flailed like a rag doll in the air then slammed to the ground, and it did it again flung me into the air and then slammed me to the ground then it dragged me by the legs into the dark hallway back towards my room as I clawed the floor and screamed at my sister to help but she was just so chill surfing the web or whatever. I asked her the next morning if she saw me or anything she was confused at my saying this, It felt so real, and in real time. Was it an obe or a form of lucid dream?

      Yes

They're the same thing. I had a similar experience long ago but I floated out through the wall of my bedroom and across the yard into my neighbor's house where I flew around up by his ceiling feeling like a ghost. He suddenly noticed me and got scared, which scared me (I was especially scared by the wicked gleeful feeling of power I was having) and then I was pulled rapidly back into my bed and my body. This definitely didn't happen in the 'real world', because of several things - it was dark in the dream but full daylight outside at the time I was sleeping, and that neighbor actually hadn't lived there for years. So I'm convinced OBE's are just a specialized type of dream that involve a powerful sense of OMG I'm really traveling outside of my body WTF!!??

Oh then I can add to my LD count then , I seriously thought it happened in reality because how yours showed things contrary to your waking life, mine mimicked it perfectly.

Interesting - did everything in your house look right, or was there something that was off?

I've only had the one experience and I'm fully convinced mine was just a dream, but that doesn't mean they're all the same as mine.

I agree. I really want to believe there is something more to it but I have had so many in my life (about half my LDs) that I've had many chances to analyze it. I just can't find any reason to think they are more than lucid dreams. Though, I suppose there are some here that will say otherwise. I guess it's for you to decide.

Very cool lucid nightmare btw. I'm jealous. I always like a good scare. Is that weird?

It all seemed normal, the lighting was how it would be, just one dim light for my sister while she was on the computer, she was even dressed correctly. Other times something like this type of lucid dream happened something was off the tipped me that it wasn't real like one time I sat on my bed and a random street cone with which I don't even own one would fly at my face then I'd close my eyes in anticipation then be back in my bed for something similar to happen again, but the one I wrote about above was just standard procedure to how it looks at my house at night. But maybe something might of been off that I didn't see or give attention too? I was just so focused on getting help from my sister.

It makes sense that it was a lucid dream, must've instead of a dream world though, my subconscious just reenacted my position to a t or something. I swear for awhile I thought I accidentally entered a spirit realm or other dimension with which I wasn't safe from physical attacks from demons.
Thanks man, naw it's not weird, I think they're the most memorable lucids or dreams

Yeah I would be a little worried if I thought it was real especially with some my experiences. But who knows? I'm open to other possibilities.

Yeah, I think I'll welcome these things from here on out as well now that I know it was just a lucid dream

Here I must, with respect, of course, disagree a little bit with my pals. I do believe in OBEs being different than LD. Don't discount the possibility so quickly. Unless you are OK with that. If you want to know more, read some William Buhlman, Jurgen Ziewe, Robert Monroe. Compare their experiences with yours.

Someone once told me, that the only difference between LD and OBE is the vibrational frequency (density of your subtle body) which you have during exit. Depending on that you experience different places - either a dream place = LD, or real astral plane = OBE (either one that is exact energy copy of our physical world, or any of the other planes.)

I'm inclined to believe this. If my crazy vibrations allow me to enter dream world, it's not a stretch for me to believe, that a little bit different frequency would allow me to experience different planes of existence.

But that's just me. I'm not saying that I'm right, or that you need to believe that. Happy travels

I have had some of my lucid dreams start as false awakenings that up to some point managed to recreate surprisingly exact copy of waking world, that's why you should do reality check each time you wake up.

You know, that's actually enlightening. I like it. I have to admit that I'm still not completely convinced one way or the other. I have had some experiences that have really got me wondering. Specifically my last OBE.
