I dont mean to be too judgmental but I think there may be some naivety thinking you have answers to help beyond the hundreds of contributors on this site. But maybe you were just making a kind, sincere offer to give personal assistance, and are trying to be generous.

      Hello!
Im still new to Lucid dreaming and so far i have only had one 10 second LD and one slightly longer, but only sort of controlled LD, that started as a regular dream. Have you any tips for making them happen more often? Also how often do you LD and how often is it possible to LD?

Well to start off, thankyou for all the replies, i joined this site so that i could talk and share ideas with other dreamers... I Dont think i am the best Lucid dreamer, but i am extremely good. Just last night i can recall seven dreams alone.. i have been lucid dreaming since i was in preschool, my first lucid dreams where always of this closet, i would look at it open the door and always a turkey would run out and precede to tickle me until i couldent breath... Every night before i go to sleep i pray to GOD to send me many dreams, one thing about me is im a big christian but promise not to push my views on you guys. I lucid dream almost Everynight... One of the tricks is to learn how to mediate , from there you can lay down and mediate untill your body falls asleep and you can start to see your thoughts and colors. If you have done it right your body will fall asleep but your mind will be still active with your thoughts and still be awake... The hardest thing is getting past the fear that you cant move your body and the feelings you will feel.. i think the fear is from the mind because it is sort of a unnatural thing for your body to go thru, and the voices and vibrations can be a bit startling at first.... I would love to help anyone with questions they may have just please make them specific , i also would love any advice or tips in return.

What do you do once you reach the stage of voice/vibrations/colors to induce a LD? It's sounds like a WILD, but I *just* started to look that up, so that's it. Also for me, I have had problems falling asleep, either prior or once reaching that (soft/light)stage, or I'll just hang out, passively watching/listening, trying to focus in so the outside world or my body seems to disappear, but just end up hanging out in the void. Tips? :'D

Hey dream protector, welcome to DV! It is always great to have pros here.

I have heard from a few people that if you can WILD (enter the dream consciously) from initial sleep then inducing is easy. Lots say not to try because it can cause insomnia. I try it when I feel like I can do it, and I normally can make it to the dream, but it is pretty unstable when I enter. Could you describe all the feelings you get when you are entering at the beginning of the night? As much detail would be awesome, not many people do this, so I don't have anyone to instruct me in where I am going wrong, because those LDs only last a few minutes, and most of my LDs last about 10-20 minutes.

I would say that the first sign your going into a dream is when you start to see your thoughts, but the things is is that your mind will sort of be in such a deep concentration that you will not realize it is happening at first. For example while laying down and mediating you will want to start out laying down do the whole breathing thing with your eyes closed of course. After about ten min or so when you have your breathing where you want it, begin to concentrate on creating your dream. You do this by lets say i want to dream about apples so while laying down controling your breathing you think about ponys.. But this is where you can go wrong, to really put your mind in the world of ponys you cant just keep repeating the word ponys in your head. You have to branch off from it for example, i start thinking about ponys then i ask myself how many ponys are there, i say five, then i say there are five ponys, from there i might ask my self i wonder what color they are, i say white so now i have five white ponys, then start to imagine what having five ponys would be like, like what will i feed them with, where can i ride them, in the grass, on a mountain, how does it feel to ride them, i can feel the wind blowing past my ears, my body moving,up and down everytime the horse moves its legs. You have to paint the entire scence for your mind to become convinced and be abel to project it in your head. Before long after painting your scence you will start to actully see whatever it is your thinking about, but you wont realize its happening at first its like your sort of just thrown into it, its not like all of a sudden the horse just slowly starts to apper. When you first realize your actully seeing it you might snap back into concesness, because of the excitement, but dont worry because it,will only take a min to get back into it just start back up,your thoughts again and remember this time that when you see them again its what you wanted, just sit back for a few mins and just look at the dream where ur at whats around you etc, dont just rush into it casting fireballs etc because when you snap into another dream thats diff from what you where thinking about you wont realize your dreaming, you need to give your mind awhile to adjust to the fact that your dreaming but its what you want, this will help your dream last longer, and you will be more likely to be abel to tell that you are dreaming whever you randomly pop into a different dream.

Very interesting, I shall ponder these things. I normally see a scene and try to stabilize when I first start seeing it, just sitting back and waiting before engaging sounds like a good idea (of course, so does fireballs ). When realizing I am in a dream I go with the flow of stable that the dream has set up normally, so waiting a while for a flow to be set up when entering a dream from the start makes sense. I shall give this a try tonight since it doesn't interfere with my normal lucid schedule.

      Also:
You pray for dreams? That is interesting. I don't like to bother God with such trivial things, but last week I was talking to my wife about that and she told me that "All the things that we are facing must seem trivial to God, he helps us with them because he loves us and sympathizes with us." or something to that extent. I decided that I should start praying for more small things, but hadn't thought about LDing yet.

      Another question:
What is a way that you have improved waking life through a dream?

Interesting. You don't need a dream for that though, you just need to have "your eyes opened" like in the Bible. Or to be caught up into heaven like 2 corin 12.

I know a lot of people that have seen angels, so it is still happening, but 3 things:
      1) if you are doing it to make the bible seem more credible when you talk to people about it, then this is an ineffective way, since all non Christians would just think you imagined it

      2) if you are doing it mostly for the questions about life, than everything you need is already in the Bible.

      3) John 20:29

Not to discourage you! most things like angels or things like this are really personal experiences for your benefit, that is why Paul didn't talk much about his exp with it. It is a good thing to pray for, since even Moses prayed for that.

You should see if you can memorize something in a dream (the Bible or something like that) or practice something in a dream (like sports) so you can get better at it.

I see. So do you think that you are dream sharing at the time? I am a fan of dream sharing, but haven't really tried yet. Trying to get better at inducing lucidity now. I'll be trying that later in life.

      Another question:
What is the most amazing bit of dream control you have seen?

no problem i really enjoy talking about dreams and sharing ideas... I would have to see the most amazing dream control i have seen, as far as what i have done is when i teleport, water bend, or when i can use telekinesis. When i water bend it just feels so real, i can even turn it into ice, and create huge waves. As far as telekinesis i once lifted a entire semi truck and then crushed it like a tin can, sometimes i can turn lights on and off with my mind to in my dreams of course.

as far as dream sharing i don't think i have ever done it, i would love to learn to though.... I might have one night when me and my old room mate where sleeping and when we woke up we both remeber seeing eachother in our dreams, and that we went to a party and that he was playing the guitar.....

Since you are saying water bend I imagine you use the ideas from avatar the last airbender. I love that show! So freaking awesome. I haven't tried much with water since I picked up on fire really easily. I don't really "fire bend" as much as I can create fire anywhere and control it completely like a part of my body, which is weird feeling extra parts to my body.

Sounds like you have a pretty good base for dream control. I would recommend checking out the "task of the month" and "task of the year" for great ways to get creative fun ideas for LDing.
