      Almost an unintentional WILD?

So today I woke up in the middle of the night and tried to go back to sleep which wasn't very succesfull because i was moving alot (Didn't find any comfortable positions to sleep in). But then I thought screw this and just forced myself in some position. And here's the thing, after awhile I started to hear a muffled beep and suddenly there were vibrations in my whole body and alot of different images (Which I assumed was HH), so my first thought was awesome an unintentional WILD but then I kinda freaked out and opened my eyes (shame on me).

So was it a WILD or maybe something else and if i had kept going would i have ended up in a LD?

Hi there! Looks like you have experienced some HH both auditory and visual and were close to transitioning. While these as well as vibrations are not required in order to WILD they may occur while you are falling asleep or lding. I think if you had remained calm and alert for a bit longer, you might have fully transitioned into a lucid dream. By the way, waking up after getting some sleep and spending some time awake (also known as wbtb) can significantly increase your chances for ld, including unintentional wilds. It's best done after sleeping 4-5 hrs. Hope that helps. Sweet dreams!

This month i had 2 succesfull unintentional WILD's. I say unintentional because i was practicing B-MILD but instead i got the WILD. And i had kinda the same experience as you. But i didn't freak out. I stood calm and saw what could happen. It was great. Try it next time, without freaking out.

Yeah many of my lucid dreams are caused by this. I guess I could call it a lazy WILD. One tip - when in vibration state do not focus on your body, instead imagine yourself in a dream. I didn't know about this and often my vibration state was interrupted because I instinctively put the focus onto my body, and then I've read somewhere that it is a mistake and this tip really helped.

When people started to talk about WILDs in the first LD research they were just this kind of thing. It was not yet a common idea that this was a way to induce them. They just were happening to the LDers who kind of woke up in the middle of the night. It has of course been a skill dream yogis used for eons, but the term WILD is pretty new. You just hit the right spot and your body started to sleep while your mind was partially awake. Good job, you will succeed in getting all the way into an LD before long.
Peace Be With You. Oh, and sure, The Force too, why not.
