How on earth do you guys get perfect recall?
I've been keeping a dream journal for about 4 months, and I feel like i've made a bit of progress, but it hasn't been linear at all.
Every time I wake up it is the same mental wrestle with that sneaky part of my brain that doesn't want me to know about my dreams. It is always very tense, but now I can usually overcome its power by just concentrating on a certain feeling or person from the dream I just had, then the dream kind of all comes back when I remember that one thing. Sometimes I will have a fragment of a feeling, and this usually happens for very bizarre and intriguing dreams that I REALLY want to remember, but the fragment just won't develop into memory. Most of my entries don't go massively in depth, but there are a few that are detailed and vivid that I can remember even now.
Anyway I got really frustrated this morning when I woke up and couldn't recall anything, and I knew that I had woken up in the night as well and couldn't recall anything. This has happened occasionally before, and it's just really discouraging.
How did you guys/girls get your recall up to scratch? Do I need to learn more about general sleep/the sleep cycle? Is it just different for everyone, and a matter of knowing yourself?
