      first lucid dream!!!!

I had my first lucid dream last night! it was awesome!

the good old finger palm reality check!

I wrote it in my journal if anyone wants to see.

unfortunately I didn't stabilize and I slipped into a normal dream after what seemed like about 1 minute.

I would like to start by saying, congrats. This is always a wonderful accomplishment to see others reach .

Stabilizing is one of the most important steps in lucid dreaming. Verbal commands work best for me, so try whatever sounds comfortable. (Get it? SOUNDS? Hah!)

How long have you been practicing? How far are you?

      Awesome.
Seems me and you had our first on the same day.

Mine was long though. I did stabilize possibly cause i remembered the video i watched 30 minutes before going to sleep which said How to Stabilize or maintain in the lucid dream.

Anyways congrats!!! Did you fly?? I did. it was cool. I didn't want to go that high though. i just went up like 10 feet max. but it was reallly cool.

      Yeeey

      Welcome to the club!

Yes, the palm/thumb RC. It's freaky, isn't it? And cool. And freaky. lol

1 min long is a nice one for the first one. Don't worry too much about stabilizing. I mean do stabilize, just don't worry about it. Touch something, eat something, smell the air...

And keep saying something to remind you that you are in a dream. Good luck and happy dreams

      Yayyy Congratulations!

I've read your entry and it sounds really cool - especially your first attempt to fly. My first LD was even shorter... It faded almost instantly.
I'm sure that there are many more long and awesome LDs awaiting you soon! Keep it up!
To stabilize I usually rub my hands or focus on some small objects nearby - always works for me You could try that the next time your dream starts to fade.

Congrats, there is nothing like your first time . It's a life-changing experience. And also so great about the duration, my first was also just about a minute I think and I had time to notice things, make a few decisions, and even save the dream from fading once with a spin. I find that doing waking life practice of becoming lucid, with a short stabilization ritual (hand rub, hand body pat-down to bring your full body into the dream) really helps bring the practice into the dream.

It is a life changing expiriance isnt!?

and yes thats a good idea! so when you enter a lucid dream you instantly know what to do thanks

i now find that i am so much more aware of where i am, what im doing, who im with, all because of lucid dreaming its awesome, ive got a bad memory in waking life and i think being so aware all the time will help sooo much. thanks for your reply.

      happy dreaming.
