Exclamation Moments of feeling lucid while awake!

Lately I've been getting moments of feeling like I am starting into a lucid dream, while I'm AWAKE! I am not distressed by it, but I am curious if this is normal. It only lasts a second or two and then goes away. It comes on almost like a feeling of deja vu, but instead of feeling like this has happened before, if feels like I am realizing I am dreaming, but I am not dreaming. lol

I've had one or two of those so far. I'm pretty sure that's normal. When I feel like I might be dreaming, I do a second and a third RC to make sure I'm not delusional.

These are happening in waking life - like while I'm making soup, or taking out the trash.

How does it feel like? Is it a physical feeling? Or you just creep yourself out, like "oh crap, what if this is a dream"?

Because sometimes I get those "what if this is really a dream". But not physical sensations.

And agreed, you should RC everytime it happens.

Gab, well it's really hard to explain exactly how it feels, but I will try. If you have ever had deja vu, you know that it comes on suddenly without warning, and there is sort of this magical epiphany that just imbues your awareness. It is that same magical type feeling of something like deja vu mixed with the feeling (it doesn't freak me out) that I get when I realize that I'm dreaming - in a dream - and become lucid. Sort of like my brain becomes lucid while I'm awake, but then I realize that I am indeed awake. Maybe my brainwaves are going into the gamma frequency very briefly, and then returning. I don't know. It's not negative at all. But yes, I will do a reality check the next time this happens.

I think I know what you mean, it is that very special type of feeling when you suddenly go "hey wait, what if I'm dreaming right now? I sort of got that feeling for some reason...".

I tend to get that feeling a lot during "dreamlike" scenarios in waking life, for example if I take a walk on a summer morning while it's still foggy and silent.

First of all, I'm sure you're aware of it, but please make ABSOLUTELY SURE that you are lucid before acting out any of your dream goals!
I experience something quite similar as you, it is like a moment of 'waking up from daywalking'. I would recommend using them as a reminder for yourself to stay aware during the day, which will definitely help you in lucid dreaming.

Yes I had what I call a "becoming lucid in waking life" about 2 weeks ago, it was awesome. It was mostly a visual sense feeling. People seemed to become very bright and much clearer/higher definition than in waking life. It lasted about 10 seconds and was awesome, but I didn't think I was dreaming (believe me I did some reality checks to be sure!). I had been practicing ADA/RC for about 3 weeks at that point, and was doing it actively when the "waking lucid" moment happened.

Was once playing tennis with floodlights on as it was pitch black when suddenly a fuse must have blown and they all just flashed out. It was pitch black and so surreal, i reality checked so many times.
