Honestly I've never felt pain in a dream. Like you've said it's all kind of numb, not really there. I remember in one dream I got shot multiple times, trying to dodge the bullets but being shot nonetheless, and walked away like it was nothing. |

All I ever hear about lucid dreams is how vivid, tangible and realistic they are. You can smell the outdoors after a rain, feel the sun on your skin, taste the chocolate cake. Everything is more intense and realistic. My dreams have always been quite vivid, but my mom says that young people tend to have vivid dreams (I'm 17). I was just wondering if since lucid dreams are so vivid, if the pain is more real too. In my dreams, pain is kind of numb, dull, Or I just wake up. What do you think? Have a great day. |

I rarely feel pain in my dreams (normal or lucid) and when I do it is very dull. |

Dreaming permits each and every one of us to be quietly and safely insane every night of our lives. ~William Dement
I have felt pain in lucid dreams. Has been very realistic, but I can turn it off pretty easily if I want to as well. |

I feel pain in non-lucid dreams, but not in lucids because then I'm aware and know that nothing can hurt me. The biggest thing I've do so far in that respect was that I cut out my own heart for a Task of the Month: http://www.dreamviews.com/blogs/siby...tm-dild-55758/ |

ive fealt pain in dreams a few times and they hurt pretty bad |

I have felt some pain in lucid dreams, like a strangling sensation and a burning in my throat, and this is usually because i feel like my waking body is actually choking and i wake myself up, however i have never really been choking. It always feels very real, and it does hurt, like what i imagine being strangled would actually feel like. Its something i need to work on getting rid of because ive lost some good potential lucid dreaming experiences due to this.. |

I want to feel pain in my dreams and lucid dreams. I think it'll make it more interesting and fun and I'd be more cautious about what I do. Here's a copy from a journal from a while back when I felt pain: |

I haven't yet been able to Lucid Dream (only started 2 days ago) but I do have quite a good rate of dream recall and I can't remember feeling any pain in my normal dreams/nightmares; even though my body has been hurt in them occasionally. |
|
It can get pretty intense. |

I can feel pain in my dreams, like getting stabbed, sinking in lava, drowning, and even emotional pain. In very bad nightmares it can get to the point where I'm crying in my sleep or screaming. It feels pretty real. |

I've never felt pain in dreams, but i know my friend did use a rocket launcher the wrong way in a lucid dream, and it hurt so badly that it hurt him for a while in the morning too. (He had the back of the RPG right in his face. -_-) |

Hmmm. I can feel pain in dreams but it's never as strong as it would be in real life. My reactions are the same, though. The only way I can explain it is that it's like some part of me does feel the full extent of it and reacts, but I don't. I feel the emotions of it, and a sort of approximation, but I'm shielded from the full force of the pain. Meanwhile my dream body will be on the ground screaming. So that's weird. |
