      Method to spark dream recall?

I'm not asking how to increase recall, but does anyone have a method that starts recall quicker?

After waking up, almost 100% of the time my brain says "you didn't dream". Then I rest and then my brain says "remember this piece of a dream" and the rest starts to come.

But it can even be a painful experience trying to recall.

Is there a relaxation technique? What do you do to initiate recall?

Sometimes I try to just remember people and it helps.

I'm not really a genius on this, but I'll try my best:

I don't think there's a way to kick start brilliant dream recall. All I can say is as soon as you wake up, try to remember what you dreamt. If you can remember only one part, then that should give way to other parts of the dream. I've had to increase it over time slowly.

The other method is to use supplements, but I know nothing about those.

Again, I'm not an expert so I might be wrong. This is just drawn from my own experience.

One method thats working fairly good for me is to repeat a mantra before falling asleep. "I remember my dreams, I remember my dreams". Repeat it in your head until you fall asleep, and truly expect yourself to remember your dreams when you wake up.

Another thing I do to remember my dreams better, is to wake myself up a few times each night. I use a soft alarm sound so it won't wake me up immidietly, sometimes I even hear the alarm in my dream and think for myself that it's time to wake up and write down what I was dreaming.

The worst is when you know there is a great dream to be gotten....and you can't remember. Ahhhh!

It seems like there are times when I'm just too tired to remember also. It just won't come.

I was just hoping someone had some cool method to bring on the recall. It seems like I have to stir my memory to get a piece and if I just get a piece, the rest comes flooding thru.

It's like trying to grasp a thread and once you have a hold, it pulls the sweater apart.
