How to turn False Awakenings into LDs?

Hey all~ I've been interested in LDing and doing RCs for the past 3 weeks. I was just wondering how do I turn FAs into LDs? I do the nose plug RC every time I wake up and catch them and realize I'm dreaming, but then I wake up shortly after that. For example last night, I attempted SSILD and did a MILD? (counting 1 I'm dreaming... 2 I'm dreaming, 3 I'm dreaming Etc...) I was in a dream in which I was at high school and met my sis and friend. We were planning on signing yearbooks and my sis and friend started talking about when we should all meet up. In my head I thought, isn't she in college? And then I heard "I'm dreaming, I'm dreaming..." and realized I was dreaming and was in bed all of sudden (is this a FA?). I did plugged my nose and could breathe through it and confirmed I was dreaming... I saw my blanket had turned yellow, then I heard a noise which made the blanket fade from yellow to orange (orginal color) then I woke up. Then later after another dream, I woke up and did another Nose Plug RC and was sure I was still dreaming and then woke up abruptly... I can't really do much... How do I extend it and make it a LD? I hope this makes sense... Thanks all!

      Hi,

      False awakenings are dreams aswell
So by performing reality check everytime you wake up you should be able to overcome them quite well
Thought it might be quite problematic if your getting one FA fast after another

False Awakenings are usualy caused by being afraid or scared of waking up
Dreams are controlled by our emotions aswell. so if your scared of getting caught by policemen while stealing Time Machine there's slight chance that he will catch you.

The best way to overcome that would be not thinking about waking up, if you accidently think about it then simply ignore it and pretend that it was just mere rumor or joke you heard and continue on dreaming. You can tell yourself that your staying in dream as long you want, so you won't never ever wake up unless you want to or lose lucidity.

      This should do the trick

Well, don't sell yourself short. These are LDs, they just are very short ones. It could be any number of reasons why you are waking up, but if you are getting too excited, then you're bound to wake up. A couple of things you may want to avoid:

      (1) You may want to avoid thinking hard about your body in bed. You're wanting to associate with the dream body right now. If you take your senses away from the dream world, you may wake up.
      (2) Try to avoid getting too excited. For instance, many people become "lucid" and completely lose it. Try to just be calm and look around, remember what you were doing, who you were talking to, etc. Then start doing cool stuff. If you're calm, you can stretch these out for a long time.
      (3) You can try stabilizing techniques, but this is not always necessary. Either rub your hands together, look at your hand (meditate on it) or just take in all the scenery. You can also try spinning around with your eyes open. Apparently this can cause you not to wake up. You will most likely not get dizzy. I don't use this method because it tends to put me in darkness, and I would rather be flying around. But if you may want to use it as a method to sustain lucidity.

^And this. Things are very suggestible in dream. You can, for instance, suggest to yourself that you will remember everything. This helps remember things! So try, like MisakaMikoto says, and brush off any thoughts that you feel will wake you up. They were just thoughts. You're busy lucid dreaming!
