What reality checks do/would you do in school?

I only do the hands RC, I also have a question about that RC. Do you have to look at both hands or can I just look at one hand? I find it awkward looking at both..

      Hi,

You don't need to look at both hands
The point of this reality check is fact that in our dreams hands tend to look weird/unnatural
For example in my today's lucid dream when i've looked at my hand it showed three hands instead one.
So checking out just one hand is still fine too

As long as hands weird out in dreams then this reality check will do it's job
      I'm back! Again? Uhhh..

Staring at words and looking back at them multiple times to see if they change. That's always possible in a school setting. Same with rechecking the time on your phone.

Have a small piece of paper in your pocket. Write a random word like bear, apple, am i dreaming?, yes etc. You then look at that piece of paper through school.

Try and push your hands through your neighbour. Good conversation material as well

If you can already reliably fly in your dreams, you might check gravity from time to time to see if you can levitate. It doesn't always work, but when it does, it's pretty awesome.

If you're looking for an RC you can do in school, then nose pinch is probably out of the question. I've had people ask me why I pinch up my nose, and I fib telling them that I have allergies and it helps me to relieve congestion.

Generally all classrooms have a clock so a clock check might be the right way to go.

Generally you should have some paper or reading material handy, so a text rc might work.

But the king of reality checks is always asking yourself 'am I dreaming?' and trying to recall events leading up to your current situation.

You can do a super-quick nose pinch. Make it seem like you've got a bit of a runny nose and you're clearing your nostrils - sniffle and just for a second pinch your nose shut. It's enough to tell if you can breathe or not, for me anyway. No need to hold it shut for any length of time, there will be a momentary distinct cutoff of breathing. If you do this a lot people will assume it's just an affectation of yours (they might make fun of you for it though - just saying' :tongue wiggle: ).

The only point of Reality Checks is to search for proof that you are dreaming.
The simplest Reality Check is probably to just mentally ask yourself "could I be dreaming right now?" and pay attention to the surroundings.
You can make up all kinds of personal Reality Checks yourself, as long as they in some way challenge the nature of reality and can indicate that you are dreaming.

Another very discrete RC is to look at a watch several times, and see if the time changes in some unrealistic way.
Some people say that digital watches are more reliable for this, but I have got results from analogue watches as well, like the hands randomly jumping between different times and sometimes even spinning extremely quickly.

Nose-plug RC always seems to work for me. It's discreet enough that people wont notice, but also odd enough that the people that really stare at you will notice O.O
