You can't ignore them, because it's science.

That's the thing about science. It demands to be recognized. (See what I did there? Screw you John Green!)

If you have REM cycles at the beginning of the night, they last maybe five minutes, give or take.

Now, you spend 20-30 minutes just trying to get there with WILD.

You finally hit the REM cycle after 30 minutes! YAY FOR YOU! Except, the REM cycle is only 5 minutes.

In 5 minutes, you'll wake up.

This is why attempting WILD is suggested after 4-5 hours of sleep, since this is when our REM cycles are longer.

Or why it's suggested during afternoon naps, since a lot of people have REM cycles in the afternoon.
