Bro, a consistent sleeping pattern does so much for you. Not only does it help your recall, but I feel that it improves your overall success with LDing. Whenever I stick to a consistent sleep cycle, I wake up remembering everything, even the first dream of the night and my level of awareness in that dream. On the other hand, when I sleep whenever and give in to my tiredness, my dreams reflect that. I only remember certain dreams during the night and fragments.
If you really want it man, you won't make excuses. Of course we all have school or jobs or whatever, but try to find something that would fit in and revolve around that schedule. I really feel that your body preforms better(and especially your mind) when it has something it can stick too. Of course, you can set your alarm for hours later on a day off, that really increases LD chances, but try to go to bed the same time every night with the exception of fridays and saturdays if you're the party type or you're always out.
Whenever you feel like quitting, remember where you came from. Most of all, remember why you started.
