Would dating in a Lucid Dream be bad?

Don't get the wrong ideas. I mean you find real life women attractive and pursue them for actual relationships but at the same time, would wanting to date in a lucid dream be bad? Like about a fictional character or something. I was wondering this.

Well...In my honest opinion, NO. And this is coming from someone who is engaged to a video game character and pursues on having lucid dreams about him. Besides, I do not see wanting to date someone in a dream who is based off a fictional character being wrong. Most people today would laugh at such things though honestly, despite what many would say, you should do what you feel is right and makes you happy. Do not let social norms tell you how you should live your life, especially in dreams.

I wouldn't invest too much in it, but it can be fun taking a dream character on a date.

Well, I personally wouldn't do it. Lucid dreams are products of the cooperation of the subconscious and conscious parts of your brain. So the subconscious can still affect that dream person you're dating. E.g. What if she turns into a monster?

And still she's never real. Your access to this girl is limited to a successful attempt at lucid dreaming after the first time you've created her. What if you become too attracted? I'm not sure that is even possible though

Well I personally don't see anything wrong with it, I mean its just a fantasy as long as you don't prefer it to real life

Though from experience I do not see it affecting anything bad if you prefer having dreams about someone who you cannot be with in the physical world of Earth as opposed to "real life" relationships. But it depends on the person and how they choose to live their life I guess.

As long as you don't get to much into it, it should be fine... I mean - we even fantasies in waking life about our romantic pursuits, and it's totally OK as long as you don't get into creepy stalker mode because of it... Dreaming about someone in that way is the same thing.

You know, there's actually a movie that asks just that question:

The Good Night (2007) - IMDb

      Hi Redrivertears!

Sorry. For me, this movie was a big disappointment. Almost in everything. The LD part is so wrong, that I dont recomend it for the beginers to look this movie, until they dont know, that is has nothing to do with real LD-ing. I really wanted to like it, but at the end I wanted to forgot it. If it is about LD and film, I like the pilot + 5 episodes of Anamnesis. I was very sad that this project stopped. Yes, it is mystical, and therefore it is not the best choice for "scientific based LD knowings", but it is closer to LD-ing, then the Inception or The Good Night.

      Anamnesis pilot:

I don't think that movie is accurate tbh and I really don't think that would happen. If anyone has tried it could they share their experiences?

I think I am with three cat on this matter. Nothing against trying and some lucid dream "action" but maybe not invest too much time in it?

Personally I don't even think it would be a "bad" thing even if you did manage to have a continuing dream relationship, along with a waking life relationship. As long as it doesn't interfere with your life, and your waking life partner doesn't have a problem with it.
      It's all in your head.

I think it would be awesome. If I got lucid more often I would find a nice girl and summon/visit her often and do fun stuff together, like go on adventures, show dream control skills, cuddle I don't see any problem with it, I wouldn't care if my only friend is in my dreams. I am also curious about how real, elaborate, intelligent, consistent etc a dream character can be, but beside curiosity I think it'd be great. I've often felt some connection to a girl in lucid dreams and non-lucid dreams and I always wake up from these dreams with a warm and fuzzy feeling And it was never a girl I knew in waking life, just a random dream character.
