Well I think a daydream would be pretty close, if you got deep into it but I don't think you could recreate the realism of LDing with the possible exception of VR technologies far in the future. |

I know this might be the most spupid question you've ever heard but is it possible to induce a LD like state without actually sleeping? |

Well, technically if you did a WILD in the afternoon, you wouldnt really be sleeping so much as entering in a very relaxed state directly into the LD. |

Drugs? |

If you don't, hm well have a nice day anyway ^_^
I would've hoped for something besides drugs. Maybe start from a daydream and from there make the transition to LD. And if you try wo WILD in the afternoon how long will it take becase in my case it takes quite a time even during the night after I've allready slept a few hours? |

Ok, seriously I think it's not possible. It's lucid DREAM. That's what it's about, controlling your dream or being aware of it. Real life when being awake is a different state. You can daydream of course and that's probably the closest thing to it. In fact there are actually closer mind states to it, people commonly call them mental illnesses. |

sadly I don't not think this is possible, Lucid dreaming is emergent and derived from the REM neurophysiological configuration. If normal dreaming lets say is comprised of A,B,C,D, and E, then Lucid dreaming consists in these plus F,G, and H. So Lucid dreaming can only exist with your typical dream neurological correlates as its foundation, being a efflorescence of normal dreaming. |
