      Binaural Beats?

Binaural beats were one of the things I looked over when learning about lding, I'm just curious for people who have experience using them. Is it best to combine it with a technique or does it increase your chance of lucidity by itself alone?

(I've only used these like 3 or 4 times so take my word with a grain of salt)

I think you're better off using a method (WILD/DILD) as well as BBs. Using them on your own most likely won't net you suitable results.

If you've ever played like an RPG, then your method (WILD/DILD) is like your sword. MILD, BBs and everything else is like a strength booster that makes your sword stronger and more effective. Essentially BBs are like a springboard to improve the likelyhood that you will get lucid, but most likely won't work at all if you don't use a proper method first and foremost.

every time i read about BB there is nothing consistent. there are occasional success storys (success per coincidence) followed by a lot of blabla and then the thread ends because the effects are not reproducible.

in my opinion a smiliar question would be: does pepermint tea enchances dreaming? (search it here) and you will find similar answers

I never used Binaural beats but i have used isochronic tones, another form of brainwave entrainment. I used the isochronic tones primarily for meditation and they were a enjoyable background noise and seemed to help me focus, but it was hard to tell how much they worked on a direct deep brain level. Also I have used the isochronic tones for lucid dreaming some time ago, tho again I have no sure way to know how well they were working, I don't recall a large or obvious increase in lucidity the few times they were used. Due to the unpredictable nature of lucid dreaming its hard to judge these subtle alterations in the initial conditions, I think to really know one would have to use them for something like 30 days and then compare the average with a month without using them or something like this, using a statistical model. Since they are usually free or at least not largely expensive I do not see any harm in trying them.

I pretty much only use binaural beats for meditation, if your lucky you might be able to find one that incorporates lucid dreaming suggestions/hypnosis. Binaural beats and isochronic tones are just good at getting you into different brainwave states like alpha, theta and delta which is very helpful during meditation. If you wanted to use it for lucid dreaming you would need to incorporate a LD technique such as WILD or MILD or find one that has hypnotic suggestions.
