Thread: Lucid dream and partner

I don't have a partner, but my practice with lucid dreaming has become an inside joke in our family in a sorta way. Stuff like this tends to happen alot:

- *Me at the kitchen doing random stuff*
- My brother walks in: " You're dreaming."
- *Instant reality checks*
- " Youu're dreeeamiiiing "

- My father looking at my LD supplements: " What are these pills??"
- Me: " I don't want to tell you because I know how you're going to react "
- " ... Don't tell me it's your dreaming stuff again "
- " ... It is."
- Him: *SIGH* "Oh my god... "

They don't think it's bad though haha, it's just that I'v been at it for so long that they think it's kinda weird

My wife thinks it's kind of neat but isn't really into it herself. My little brother however texts me every so often alluding to the fact that he has more frequent Lucids than me...

My family is kinda apathetic to the whole thing, really.

My family is actively trying to stop me from doing it. I just tell them I don't do lucid dreaming anymore, but it sucks that I have to keep quiet about it. Makes me lose motivation.

Aww poor mango :/ Let's look forward to a situation like this: *a mango is grinning a wide grin* mother asks "hey why are you so happy?" "welllll, ehhh you dont want to know i think..." "no tell me, i want to know why my daughter is happy! please tell me " "i just flew around in a beautiful landscape, feeling the wind in my hair and then landed and shot some fireballs at bad people, it was so much fun!" and then i cant predict what happens

Haha, that's not so bad I guess. At least they are joking about it in a nice way.

Daumn, that sucks, Mango. Yeah, just keep it to yourself. I know it's hard, because we want to share this wonderful thing with our loved ones and maybe even having them experience it.

My mom is scared for me and when I told her about my LDs, she even felt sorry for me. So I'm not telling them about it any more. Once she reluctantly agreed to try it and when I told her a simple mantra she got mad at me. "How am I suppose to remember this sentence"? Some people are just not ready for this. I consider myself a member of an elite group that has access to this most wonderful experience. I feel sorry for those that dismiss it for whatever reason.

My wife is not very supportive, and in fact is rather anti. It is a big deal for me because it does affect my lucid dreaming ability. I try to not let it but it is a definite negative schema. I would like to tell her about my dreams and occasional lucids, but she's just dismissive. To be fair I think she's a bit frightened of it, but it would be nice if she could share the experience. I just don't tell her very much anymore.

That's sad Sharing the experience with a loved one or a likeminded person is a huge deal. Somehow it makes the experience even stronger. I'm so glad I have DreamViews.

It's an overflow thread for disussing our lucids, methods, supplements and everything around it that doesn't fit into our DJs, for those that attempted a Task of the Month.

My boyfriend is supportive but, he is not as lucid as I am. My family doesn't share the dream interests that I do. They hate it when I tell them about any of my 5 to 10 dreams I had that night. I'm the freak in the family but, that doesn't seem to affect my dreaming at all.
