Now that's pretty awesome. Is it possible to teach yourself martial arts in a dream? or teach yourself how to do something, and then remember how to do it in the waking world? Mannn imagine the uper hand I'd have on all the other piano players if I could practice in my sleep literally. ROFL.

Yes, in your lucid dreams, you can 'construct' situations which then allows you to practice whatever you want. Whether its speaking in front of a crowd, or putting yourself into a situation where you must use your martial arts training to defend yourself... the only limit is the limit of your imagination really... (corny, yes... but I had to say it )

I get so pissed off sometimes while LDing when this happens. I'll try to fly, and know I can fly, and know that physics don't follow into the dream - and still have problems flying!

I even tried the jet pack recently, and it worked a little better, but the thing would just randomly turn off at times!

But free falling from the sky is pretty damn fun!

I have gotten better though. The dreams that I fly better are actually the dreams where I'm less lucid. More lucidity = more chance of failure in my case Though I have never extensively practiced flying, which is why I probably still suck at it.

Rainman, since you can summon objects easily, take Serith's advice and try flying with a jetpack. I don't know if you're familiar with the Harry Potter series, but if you are, you might want to try something that I did in my last LD. I reached into my pocket and took out a magic wand. Then I tried to cast spells with it to make controlling my LD easier for me. The first thing I tried was lumos and it worked, but a light on the end of your wand isn't very useful for controlling the LD. I tried some other spells but to no avail. Then I shouted avada kadavra (sp?) and pointed the wand at a bystanding DC and she fell down. I guess now I've technically killed a DC (or at least that's what that spell is supposed to do). The reason I bring this up is if you become proficient in, er, casting spells from the Harry Potter series, you could use accio, the summoning charm, to summon anything. You could say "accio broomstick" for example, and use the resulting broomstick to aid in flight. Harry Potter spells can be used for almost anything in an LD.

anything you can or can not do in LDing is based on if you believe u can or not (sometimes the belief is unconcious and you aren't aware of it). try leaping into the air, knowing full well that this adventure is in your mind. i've had flying dreams years before I got into LDing

Haha. Yeah. But for me that's in nonlucid dreams. I've never flown in lucid dreams. Seems like that's kinda backwards. Cna you move things with your mind in LDs? i assume so, but i've never bothered to try.
