Thread: What would you do if your LD lasted forever? and....!

If LDs are better than the after life I'd be cool with dying into one, but then again, the afterlife has got to be nuts as well right? What we do as LDers is a smaller magnification of death and resurrection. Shared dreams would be awesome, no doubt about it. Shared consciousnesses would be even more awesome. Sometimes I do love being alive despite the state of the world.

It would be like Life on Mars. I'd be cool with it, with one or two caveats.

I would perfect every lucid power possible and achieve 100% full control. Then I would create my own world.. a paradise where I am God and spend eternity doing whatever pleases me.

I bet you could create a world as stable as this one given enough time. If you get bored, you could place yourself in that realistic world for a lifetime before returning to the pure dream.

What if that's where you are now?

This is some deep stuff to think about...
I think it would be pretty cool if I could go about my daily life until death. But my after life would be a an eternal Lucid Dream. That, in my opinion, would be a heaven for believers of any or no religion. Depending on your own beliefs, you would create your own gods and you could talk with him in "heaven". I myself am an Athiest so I would be a god of my own universe. In my Lucid Dreams I would choose to be able to sleep, and when I sleep, instead of Dreaming, I would Reality. I would be placed in a real environment were I had no powers.

Have fun what else? Well, probably wonder what happend to my real body... and try to get myself out to see what happend in all that time but thats all.

Makes me want a concussion.

I would do anything and everything possible. I wouldn't mind being stuck in the dream world for the rest of my life, aslong as my real body was being preserved somewhere safe.

agreed. . .But I think once you die, there is an intense attraction for you to move on; like a "go towards the light" type of deal. I think this is such a strong force, most people move on to their next step in their spiritual life rather than sticking around as paranormal energy.
the way I always looked at it, it would be very interesting to be a ghost, and if I was presented with the choice to move on into the unknown or stay in my comfy astral realm as a ghosty. . .well, I think the world would be overflowing with spirits who don't want to move on. . .so i think if you died while dreaming, you would be presented with a choice; and depending on your mental clarity and spiritual disposition, you might be able to consciously deal with the matter. . .

Yeah well.. I'm hoping to become the God of my own world when I die.
I think we get to choose somehow.
Or something.


I'd change my appearance into something epic, do something epic and then I'd group up with the smart-guys of Earth and do epic stuff with my powers.

And once Earth is epic, and not sucky with people dying stupid stuff, I'll make it even more epic by introducing bits of powers to the people.
Like, an achievements and rewards system!

I'd definetly make a little house somewhere in Tibet or some ship where, inside it, you 'respawn' outside if you die. And inside it you'll also be able to change how much pain you can feel and stuff.

Stuff like that.
Natural lucid dreaming to people who have been trying and succeeded!


And I'd make other worlds, for experimenting with "what works" things.
(What happens in reality if we have two entirely different species? Like Earth, but with orcs? Would they work together?)

Ahh yes. I love playing around with that thought.
Literally never gets old. Seriously.

Get everything I want done, have false awakenings to remind me of being awake, and then get back to destroying everything I've built, and then remaking it all over.

I would join the "Awake Views" forums to help me develop the ability to wake up.

Much like The Matrix, I bet you could make a world so real, people thought it was real life, and maybe even yourself would be mesmerized into believing it was real.

I think the idea of becoming a god of your own world would be one hell of a trip.

Hmm. I would just enjoy myself and have fun, though I would miss a few real people. I'm thinking that after long enough, a person would accept the dreaming world as the real world. You'd essentially be a person with infinite power in a world you thought was real. Especially depending on how vivid it was! I know I'd spend a good portion of it befriending DCs, using 'super powers', exploring movie and book universes...

The fun of it all would die out the moment I realized my physical body was most likely lying in a hospital bed somewhere where my devastated family and friends would come and visit my comatose, vegetative and totally unresponsive body every week.

Sure, I could interact with the DC form of my family and friends, but taking into consideration that DCs I know hardly ever act like themselves in dreams anyway, it sure would feel hollow.

At least, that's how I'd feel if you meant that my LD would "last forever" throughout my actual lifetime. If you meant it as some sort of afterlife, however, that'd be pretty sweet.

What'd be the fun in being a god? Having the ultimate power to shape the universe in whatever way you want, anytime you want, would get a little boring before the first half of your eternity was even over.

I'd prefer to be one of the countless pawns of some other god's warped designs rather than be a god myself. Someone who gets to adventure endlessly through whatever these so-called "recreators of the universe" might throw at me.

Some think that when we die we go into a never ending dream and it would surely suck if you never learned how to lucid dream. I guess then it wouldn't be much different then how most people live in their waking lives...not aware.
