Exclamation I'm Scared of WILD & Sort of Lucids.

      I've got a problem.
I'm sort of scared to lucid dream.
About a week ago I had a VERY vivid false awakening and my mind was completely conscious during it: the perfect LD.
I forced myself to wake up because I was scared if I walked out of my room it would turn into a nightmare or something.
      *kicks self. hard.*

And I've been trying to WILD for a very long time, but anytime my body gets heavy or numb I get scared of it and stop.

I don't know how, but it's really frightening to me.
But I know it would be fun.

Any ideas to help me get over this???

I was that exact same way. I had the WORST False Awakenings and Sleep Paralysis. (Before I knew what anything was) - These scared the living Sh** out of me! Once I did research, found out what was happening and why, that calmed me down a ton.

Try practicing a WILD during the middle of the day. The dark can be very scary your first few WILDs, esp when you hear sounds and feel things. In the day however, it eliminates a lot of worries and concerns that are associated with the night.

Once you are familiar with what happens when you WILD, the stages, the feelings, the sounds, voices, the images, etc, etc.. You will begin to want to do it more and more at night - in a dark and quiet place.

Just remember, you are 100% safe!!!! EVERYONE goes through these things who WILD, and almost everyone was scared of it, esp at night their first few times.

--- You can find many tutorials, aids, help on this site.
--- WILD has a HUGE pay-off, and the LD is more the worth it!!!

      I'll try WILDing about 3-ish I s'pose.
      Thanks!

I think I really need to work on stopping expecting bad things to happen in lucids
      Make 'em more fun ahah.

      EDIT:

A question. I've always really wanted to talk to my subconscious in a lucid dream....
How would I do that, and does it really work?

That's something I've been wanting to do too... Maybe we just have to search, make it out main goal...

WILDing isn't as bad as you think it is. I must say that sometimes it can be pretty intense: tactile sensations, movements on your bed, loud noises, and the likes, but it's all in your head. If it helps, imagine a sphere of light around you during sleep paralysis that will protect you from bad hallucinations.

As for the LDs, as you have more you'll become more confident. Dreams are all about expectations, so if you expect a monster to be on the other side of a door, there probably will be one. You're in control, no matter how bad the dream does become. If it does turn into a nightmare, you can always just curl into a ball and ride it out, or forcefully say "stop" to whatever's frightening you, but be sure to do it with some conviction. If you do that, it helps to imagine it's reaction, whether it steps away, apologizes, or just shrinks back into the dark.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

      Thanks.
I will most certainly use the sphere of light idea. It will help so much ^_^
And so if I open a door and expect like, a unicorn or something to ride off on it will be there?

Yupp! Expectation and conviction is EVERYTHING in Lucid Dreams... and ANYTHING is possible.

The more you do, the more you imagine. The more you practice, the better you become. With that said, you will learn more methods for making things happen fairly quick.

That's how I make people I want to see appear. Like when I go through a door or turn a corner, I just think to myself I know that such and such is going to be there. Then the person usually is. It doesn't work all the time, but usually. I assume when it doesn't work it's just because i'm not convinced of it.

Maintain confidence and never expect bad things, lol. Oh, and not everyone has horrible HH. The few times I had SP it was only vibrations.
      Lucid dreams, gotta love em.
