Dream in 2D, or Dream in 4D. Both would be very hard to 'Dream in', but I believe its possible. Quite possibly the hardest achievement yet.

4D cube. Tricky stuff.

Let's give this a shot...

This 4D is still 3D.

The rotation is nonexistant because it swirls up, yet passes under, which is impossible.
The still-4D cubes are attained with X, Y, and Z.

The internal configurations do not matter, as the outside shape is all we will see. That is just random placement of volume.

You take a cube in the third dimension. Turn the same cube into a 4-d object. This is what you get:



This is a sphere in the 4th dimension:


And this is, more or less, a dodecahedron in the 4th dimension:


Interesting stuff, all in all.

But take a look at this:


Cube 1: Take a cube. Now put diagonal lines coming from each corner and cave them in. Actually, take six trapezoidal prisms and carve out the base & insides. Paste them on a cube. That is what you get. It is in all means 3D, it's just a compound subject.

That is, if you dont have those lines cross eachother. Those lines crossing eachother just make a point. Fill this cube with matter. There, no lines crossing, which takes out the 4th dimension.

It'd three dimensional.

There's horizontal, vertical, and depth. Name a 4th direction for me that CANT be made with those three.

Another thing to note: if this was NOT 3D, how could we see it? We only have a three dimensional world.

This is how it works:
1st dimension is a line. Extend that line downward one dimension. You get a square. Extend the square back one more dimension. You get a cube. Take the entire cube and extend it in yet another dimension. You now have a 4-d object. That is how it works. And yes, the surface area changes. If you'll look at the shaded image above, you'll notice how it actually dips in.

This effect is not best seen with a cube. But imagine an entire world constructed from 4-d objects. It would be mind-blowing.

4 dimensions of space. In a typical world, we have three axes: x, y, and z. In the 4th dimension, you add another axis, usually called the w axis. It is a fourth dimension of space. It is fully visible. I recommend doing a bit of research.

Oh my! This is cool stuff. Except for the killing achievment, 50 is so little, I would have enough extra points for every single DV member... Anyway, will try getting myself something.

What i'm thinking though, is that we are in a 3D world, and since you're in this world, seeing 4D, it has to be 3D. Look, fill all that area with matter and there's no cross of lines, it's just a plain 3D structure.

That makes no sense at all. You can see one-dimensional objects and two-dimensional objects. Why the hell shouldn't you be able to see a 4d object?

There is no such thing as a one-dimensional object. They are just imaginary. Like a point is considered 1D. Unless you're imagining it, it must have SOME depth to it. A point is not a definable object. It is a location.

2D Objects. I take it you're talking on paper or a computer screen. A pixel has depth to it. Even if the depth is just one atom, it's 3D.

If it's on paper, well your graphite has depth as well..

My point is that everything is 3D.
