      Lucid Dreaming Friends?

I was just wondering how many of you guys out there have friends in real life that you can actively discuss Lucid Dreaming with?

I have probably about 3 or 4, only 1 has been learning how to as well though, the others are just interested by it.

I think it helps to motivate you to have someone to I guess "race" with

Uhh... 1 or 2. And sometimes I feel like I'm bragging and they don't want to hear it

All of my friends think that it's a stupid topic. I generally don't talk about it with friends. Accept about 1.

all of my close friends are open minded and think it's a really interesting concept. i say 'concept' because i can't see any of them actually putting in serious effort to get anywhere with lucid dreaming, haha. but it's nice to have friends who ask me to tell them stuff about it or are otherwise receptive.

and i have taken note of how ex-girlfriends thought about it - the ones who liked hearing about lucid dreaming were better in unrelated areas than the others. so i don't think of it in terms of competing with people as much as wanting to be close to those who i can connect with on that kind of level.

None. Although it would be nice to have someone to talk about lucid dreaming with ;P
I'm just not sure how they'll react to this topic, because I remember what i thought about things like this back in the day
Suppose I have to try and see what happens..... but i don't think I'll try

I got lucky when I introduced the topic because each morning when we were together my friends and I would usually discuss our dreams for some reason.

But it is a shame that it's generally frowned upon, even talking about dreams in general.

Just one, my cousin. He's pretty open minded, unlike most people I know

Although, for several days a few of my friends and I were talking during lunch about wierd dreams we'd had.

I bring it up a lot, but there's only 3 people who I really discuss it a lot with. Most people I inform about it think I'm crazy. I described my attempts at WILDing to my friend's parents once and they thought I was possessed by the devil. Amazing how uncomfortable it can make people haha.

Only my best friend, but I don't talk about it frequently. He doesn't seem to be interested in (lucid) dreams that much.... :/

I've always been a bit of a dreamer, and I usually tell my friends about whatever crazy dream I had last night if we were staying in the same place or whatever. They always get a laugh out of it. Although there's only one guy I've talked about actual lucid dreaming with.

Where I live, talking about dreams just isn't done in society. Nobody really knows about lucid dreaming, and if I told anyone they would most certainly take me to be insane. I don't know why lucid dreaming isn't well known throughout mainstream society...

A few people I know were skeptics, but I just showed them Laberge's research. Surely scientific evidence can not be ignored by "New-age" ignorant people. (New age in quotes because I really don't see it as New Age considering there is solid proof of its existence)

No one in my class knows what the hell it is. My sister's vaguely interested in doing reality checks and stuff to see if she can induce a DILD, but she's not even thinking about WILDing. She's like, 'omg SP is so scary!'
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Most of my friends don't know what it is, or think it's just crazy...
There's 2 friends who i managed to get intrested into it, one of em gave up after a week, and the other one has gotten lucid a few times but it's weird... he says he gets lucid but it's not like he really try's doing things when he is dreaming he just knows

And i had a girlfriend who claims she got lucid to,but i'm pretty sure she never got lucid, she just doesn't really understood what it was to be trully aware that you're dreaming

I've never known anyone who was into lucid dreaming or into hearing about it. My mom will listen, but that's because she's my mom

I talk to my girlfriend about it. She didn't really know much about it before I started telling her about it. To help remember my dreams she is the one I tell about them. I find talking about your dreams is even better than writing them down. After a while of me talking to her about them she even had a lucid dream herself haha

I cannot understand people's resistance to lucid dreaming. If you were to ask a person if they would rather mindlessly shamble though 8 hours or spend those same 8 hours doing anything they want. Even emphasizing 'anything'. Go anywhere they want - real or unreal, be anything they want - real or unreal, and do the sideways salsa with anyone they want you would think the choice would be obvious.

Funny how disconcerting a little effort can be to people nowadays.

I've told my friends about the whole LD thingy, they all said that it is a bunch of BS. Except one, he found it a cool thing to do, but he doesn't want to be much aware IRL as a response to LDing. But now he forgot about it and not paying much attension when I tell him about how truly AMAZING it can be. He says people have to move on ...

Yup. It is infuriating, my friend gets really ticked off whenever I mention it, compares anything odd he does to my 'weird flying dreaming things'. Right, because that has any relation to the eating of shark fin soup .

Honestly though, in the end, it's REALLY their loss. Like, REALLY, REALLY a loss.

In my life, there is a general mix of people who don't care and people who think it is interesting, but I've yet to meet anyone who is really into it like I am.

Same here brother. My girlfriend thinks I'm obsessive. Now I think she's boring. I see myself alone for years to come.

I told my friend about it and he was fascinated he even tryed it but he gave up because he didn't make fast progress. He didn't have good dream recall.

That is why i joined this forum so i would have people to talk about this with.
