Alone or not to be Alone?

Secluded or crowded by DCs in your dreams? Would you like to be alone on the mountains with the beautiful night starry sky? Or would you like to be with someone and travel around the planet? I personally would choose being alone. Had a dream about my middle school being the only person around, during winter. It was like "The Day After Tomorrow" in NYC. No one around but the sunless, blue/grey tinted sky. It was scary when I entered the building. Everything was demolished: walls were broken and cracked, no carpet but the snowy ground, no lights, no nothin. I felt free, but a bit of fear. It was a lucid dream of course.

I would personally like to be around dream characters in my dreams, mostly because it makes them more interesting. Dreams with no dream characters don't interest me as much (or at all).

I think I prefer to be alone when lucid dreaming. Tho I also like to converse and play with DC's my last few times I have became lucid around a DC they wouldn't leave me alone and became quite annoying causing me to lose lucidity or wake up.

I'm usually by myself which I don't mind. However I wouldn't mind going somewhere crowded and doing something crazy like doing a somersault over a bunch of people and making them fall over. This could be interesting...

I could go either way. If there happens to be a familiar DC around, I will want to explore with them. I don't normally actively try to summon people. Strange DC characters always end up weird or frightening once I'm lucid.

Oh, just to add usually in my dreams DCs appear about the same rate as people would appear IRL. But usually I just kill them so I can continue with what I am doing.

I just thought of something important. I have an easier time staying lucid when I am alone. I can focus. The more people I run into, the greater the chance of becoming caught up in a situation or conversation.

Thats very true. Many people lose lucidity because of getting distracted.

Normally my DCs are complete retards so it's nice to have a cuppa and have a chat Sometimes... They just won't go away. It's fun though. I'm dedicated most of the time to try and make sure something scary doesn't happen - I'm such a chicken xD Ah Noes. My popcorn... :yumdumdoodledum:

I kinda could go either way. Sometimes, it's nice to have company with a DC. Other times....they act kinda dumb, or do nothing. I have purposly "snapped" in a crowd of DC's before, just so I wasn't alone. 18 or so showed up a few times...they just stood there . I want DC's, but if they are gonna be lifeless...forget it! Naturally in most of my LD's, I don't see people. If I'm in a neighborhood...it's dead, unless I ring someone's doorbell, which I have done before. I have been with DC's before in my LD's...but, usually they tend to just follow me...nothing else. EXCEPT this particualr LD with an old lady. I fixed her drapes, and she helped me to find a place, though we never got THERE. I told her about LD's and DV- if more DC's were like her, DC's WOULD acompany me. EDIT: I just realized this. This goes with my personality. I love to be with people, but also to be alone. Huh.

I am usually alone in my dreams, and if there are any DCs they're all background characters that I don't interact with. Thus I'm usually a one-man operation. Although it would be neat to get a DC to tag along with me on an adventure.

I'm hardly ever alone in my dreams. I'm almost always with friends / relatives / fictional dream characters who are constantly talking. There is never a quiet moment in my dreams! (Rather like my mind...) I'm always wishing I could have more social time in real life, which could be why my dreams are so crowded!

If you ask me to choose now, I prefer to be alone, but that's not necessarily my choice once I'm dreaming. I think it depends on both my mood and the dream context where I realize It is a dream. Sometimes I enjoy being alone to explore my inner world and sometimes I like to be with someone else.

in most of my early lucids, there would be alot of dcs around, but the moment i became lucid they vanished and i would explore the wold without anyone there. in alot of lucids now one thing i try to do is fly to th emoon, so i usually don't have much contact with dcs at all
