This kid in art class was talking about what he knows about lucid dreaming. I lul'ed through the whole conversation across the classroom. He said you can die in one and he almost died, how he saw real ghosts in his and told them to leave him alone, and how he can "OBE" but what he described was just a lucid dream. Of course he was talking to girls, maybe he wanted to be cool.

I needed to make this to lul some more. No one may find this funny but I do. Thanks <3

hes trying to talk about something he thinks no one knows about so he can look cool but he got it all wrong and so he just ended up looking stupid

If i want to seem cool when talking to girls i would rather talk about a street fight i got in where i was able to win against 3 guys, dreams are not as "Cool" to girls as he may think on the most part.

Hm... one year and they get that better? WTH? Last time I checked that it was some sort of "A LD is dangerous, you can die doing it!" and stuff like that, one of them believed it would summon demons to your house because you were attempting to OBE with a different name <.<

Edit: Actually... nvm, it is a good thing they are getting informed, just ignore me.

Yeah, the wonderful world of ignorants. One of my friends is stalwartly against lucid dreaming (maybe just to piss me off?) and is assured that you cannot control your dreams.

My brother, when I told him about it, was annoyed. His girlfriend also talked about it, and he gave me the same response - to shrug and say 'I hear if you die in them, you die in real life.'

I couldn't believe it. I thought he was just having a go at me - he's a very smart guy - but he was actually serious. When I pressed him on his ridiculous logic, he just shrugged again as if he didn't care.

Euh. Last night, my parents, being the technophobic generation that they are, started musing about 'when we'll all have access to perfectly realistic holodecks'.

I told them about dreaming (I've told them about LDs before), they just laughed. "You can't control them", patronizingly. My mom smiled at my dad as if I were such a cute little boy.

ARG. Whatever, their loss.

seriously. We LDers need to start carrying around source cards with scientifically accurate research noted in them just to hand to skeptics. I can understand not believing in OBEs and Astral Projection, but not thinking we can control our own brains? Buddha would shit his pants at the sound of that.
