Some people say they dont like the feeling of sleep paralysis and its scary, ive been in it once before and its not scary in my opinion at all unless i need to be somewhere immediately and cant notify someone that i cant move or talk for 3 minutes. But anyway, im wondering how i can get into a deep sleep paralysis so entering a LD or doing astral projection is 1000X easier once im completely in SP. Most of the time I feel relaxed and slightly tingly in my fingers, toes, arms, and legs a little, but whenever I slightly try to move to see if im fully in SP i can still move just fine. How do I get in SP fully? Should my mind or thoughts be a certain way? Should I keep my eyes still in one spot or feel free to move them (whilst closed). |

Sleep paralysis is only really useful if you already experience it often. The time and work it takes to induce sleep paralysis could be better spent inducing a lucid dream. People will often mention sleep paralysis as a precursor to WILD, but they are really talking about general hypnagogia. Follow any of the WILD guides we have around the forum. |

Do not get hung up on getting to SP. Normally you may go through SP and not even realize it. In a WILD attempt it is just a lead blanket feeling, where moving would take effort. If you try to move you can break it, so don't try to test it. If you are getting weird feelings or hear/seeing things, you are probably there. The goal is to have a LD, not to reach SP. Knowing about SP will help keep you from freaking out if you have a hard time moving, but leave it there and do not worry about it. |

Thanks for all the advice! I guess I was waiting to "not be able to move" instead of letting it get to me naturally, I usually end up experiencing auditory hallucinations, minor ones but i do. 90% of the time never scared of them, I like each sound i get because they have a very personal character if that makes sense lol. I guess after i hear things then that means im basically "there", then just have to let go and progress right? |

Right. You will feel heavy and some what less aware of your body. Do not look for a state where you can not move. Just accept that if you are getting a lead blanet feeling in general and have the starting HI stuff, you have made it. Do not test it, as that messes everything up. Then you need to start trying to visualize or some other induction trick. You want to count and chant or any of the anchor things, only until you have reached this pointt of lead blanket/HIs, then you start observing for dreams to start and try to steer your brain into a dream by visualizing or any other trick. Good luck, have fun. |

I agree with Robot_Butler and sivason. Just adding another voice to the opinions. |

how much should you let the SP build before you try to visualize? I also get the tingly feelings starting at my feet and working up, but I often feel the urge to swallow and I feel like that wrecks the whole thing. |

I try to do WILD and today I manage to the stage where my body begun to feel numb and heavy. But I got scared and quickly move my body while I still can because I feel my heart beat faster and heavier than normal. It sound really loud in my ears. |

yea i get that too. |

Then I actually got scared for nothing. |
