How can I be in full control of my senses.

This is really my last hope to having what I want mentaly, that question is what I want to know,The most, out of everything in the world. SOme may say It could be my life question. As I think of it now I dont think I will have a more important question I can ask in my life. Although I hope that changes, the ability could help me in litterly every way possible. Im shy and the internet is the only was to get away from that. I believe with this power I could easly change that. Insted of feeling like im about to get sick (While talking to new people) I could easly make that go away. It could also boost my creativity (Which I have been lacking lately) if anyone,I say anyone, who has experience of learning to,or controlling senses please I MUST KNOW! Thanks as always -C.B.M

      Elaborate.

Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.

How can I be able to make a smell, feel,or see something differently. Like I mentioned in the Thread,if I feel my stomach drop when talking or seeing someone, how could I change that by controlling my feeling. Also if you smell something you dont like, how could you control your smell to change in. Being able to go into your "Sense" Library and mix and match feeling, sight, ect at anytime. Maby the smell of candles make you sick, chage it to something you like,Bubblegum.

The brain is a network of associations. If you want to change your experience, you must change the associations. You cannot "switch" associations you don't like, but you can stop reinforcing them and instead reinforce associations you do like. So if candles make you sick, then smell a candle and sniff an anti-nauseate after, or something to that effect. If people make you nervous, you are probably conditioned to be nervous around people. To change the conditioning, practice is required. Baby steps is key, you can practice by increasing the number of social exchanges you have. Practice with cashiers, etc. You can also surround yourself with socially outgoing people. At first it may make you feel even less secure to be around people that feel very secure, but they'll start to rub off on you.

Agree with Original, even if it's as small as asking random people for a lighter or wether they know what the time is (even though you probaly already know or don't give a shit). Or even just saying hi. Cbm, sounds like you have a fear of being rejected.

You're looking for quick fixes to issues that you should be owning up to. Instead, concentrate on realistic self-improvement and life improvement. It seems like you aren't taking much responsibility for unfortunate aspects of your life. You believe you're helpless to work on yourself and your environment without some magic potion that will just fix everything. If you're anxious around people and really want that to change, figure out what's wrong with yourself psychologically in that respect. Ask yourself what you're really afraid of, where that feeling of fear comes from, and realize that there's nothing to really be afraid of, then practice talking to people.

Realize that a lot of negative reactions we have are beneficial to our survival and well-being. You might make rotten food look, smell and taste appetizing to you... but then you may eat it and get sick. If you were in some near-death situation, but didn't care because you chose not to feel the appropriate fear, you may not care enough to try to save yourself.

The basic idea of most mental yoga is to learn to control such things. I am not saying you can make candles smell just like bubblegum, but a trained yogi could very likely supress any discomforting impulses enough to not react to the discomfort. Well, geese, if my suggestion is to explore the workings of your mind and nervous system and learn to adapt and modulate as much of the system as is possable,,, that is only helpful if you are willing to put in the work. Is it alot of work, yes. If mastering your own nervous system sounds like the key, perhaps starting with the stuff I share in the DVA would be enjoyable. However, on a more immediate level, Originalposter's comments seem on the money.
Peace Be With You. Oh, and sure, The Force too, why not.

One does not suppress senses, in fact overcoming impulsive reactions comes from fully immersing oneself in the sensory data, despite the discomfort it causes. This allows one to experiences life with equanimity rather than reactionarily.
