Welcome, totoroben!
Sure, a pad of paper or a notebook is just fine for a bedside dream journal. I, too, like the written journal for the "immediate" dream content simply because it's easy to just grab it and start writing. You can always clean it up and transfer items over to your online journal later (especially memorable dreams and lucids!)
Keep us up to date with your dream recall progress and especially let us know how your induction attempts go. Your chosen technique (WILD) is one of the intricate techniques around, so be sure post up the details of your attempts. DVA staffmembers that have some WILDing experience will then be able to help point you in the right direction on how best to progress with it.
