Thumbs up How good are my odds if I have excellent dream recall? And hi :)

Newbie here! Interested in having some sleeping fun!

Anyway (not to brag or anything), as long as I can remember, I've had pretty amazing dream recall. In fact, it is very unusual for me to not remember my dreams. (I've even had one so epic it sparked an idea for a novel I'm writing!)

I've heard dream recall is one of the most important steps.

Now I've only been at this for a week or so, but how good would you say my odds are of successfully becoming lucid with my dream recall rate being so high?

      Thanks!

      Hi, welcome to Dreamviews! :3

Having good dream recall, especially as good as you say, is a great start. Lots of people spend the first few days trying to up their recall, but since you already have it, you can get right into the actual techniques like DILD and WILD. The higher the recall you have, the better the chances of remembering a lucid dream you have once you wake up. Although someone with poor recall will probably still "know" they had a lucid, they wouldn't remember much detail.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

I read somewhere (and I think it came from LaBerge) that if you diligently fill out your DJ every day you can expect two LDs a month.

I cannot remember the source, so if anyone is aware, please post.
My LDing record, if you want to hear about it, is about 4 WILDs, 1 DEILD, and the rest DILDs.

If you have good dream recall and assiduously record your dreams in a Dream Journal, you are very likely to have an occasional LD. If you want more frequent LDs, pick a technique and become a master. And welcome!

Hi! I also have great dream recall and I've just recently started to read about lucid dreaming on the internet (just over a week ago) and I had my first lucid dream last night. I wasn't able to stay in it very long because I got too excited (they always tell you to stay calm but I guess that will be the hardest part for me). Anyway, once you start thinking about this, it may actually happen sooner than you think. I haven't even started a dream journal, yet, but I always try to remember the details of my dreams as soon as I wake up and analyze them. I've been doing that for as long as I remember. I will start a dream journal to take this further. Good luck to you!

Last night, four. Night before, three. I average about three per night as far back as I can remember, and I always get at least one during a short nap.
