      Lucid dream or not?

So, I once had this dream(nightmare) , I knew I was dreaming, but couldnt control it. I was like, cRAP!!I have to wake up I have to wake up I have to wake up and I woke up. Is that a lucid dream or not?

Yeah it became a lucid dream the moment you realised you were dreaming. However I don't think it was controlled which is the next step after becoming lucid

If you knew you were dreaming, you were lucid dreaming. Control has nothing to do with it, I rarely control my lucid dreams.

That counts. As long as you knew you were dreaming, it was a lucid dream. Too bad you tried to wake up Now you know for next time.

Well if you want to control them then you can. Some people just like to go along with the dream, you don't always need to break the boundaries. Watching a dream unfold can be really amazing.

Yup If you're aware of the fact that you're dreaming within a dream, it was lucid! Yay!

The reason to control dream is to give your self an adventure or pleasing experience with only expectations of having an enjoyable experience.
You allow the dream to unfold for many other reasons. You can take many different views. It can be to learn what is in your mind or can be seen as looking into the future or travelling thru astral projection. There are many reasons as you can think of, but isnt the reason of dreaming to not think just let it happen? Oh right sometimes we want to make the future what we want it to be....... LOL and sometimes we want someone else to tell us what to do as in my guide is a leopard and shows me things and teaches me. I know it's my super sub concious telling my sub concious which then tells my concious mind, but hey maybe It is truely a spirit that is guiding me.
