Did I have a lucid dream?

      There were 2 dreams:

      #1

It was extremely hazy. My vision/view was like a video camera, turning quickly at 90 degrees to focus on different things and movement around was very fast. This actually seemed out of my control. It was too dark to distinguish scenery. I looked at my hands and they looked so blurry that I immediately assumed I was asleep. Once I knew this I tried all sorts of stuff with little success.

Tried to float and only view changed like a video game. Could not tell if actually levitating. Saw the word 'Chu' (friend on irc) and the letters kept turning on .5 sec intervals 90 degrees each time. I thought reading was not possible during dreams for the most part?

I was wondering if I might have been daydreaming somehow much this time instead of just dreaming.

I went back to bed and laid really still to try to initiate dream paralysis. Felt like my feet were lead, then a few minutes later my midsection. I knew it was a dream (or daydream) because the scenery again was very blurry. At beginning I first imagined *person i know* being near me but I could not get her face focused. It kept looking distorted or off-angle. Felt like a bug was literally under my right shoulder. I could feel my body laying on the bed. Tried again to imagine scenery but was so blurry. Looked at hands and were blurry and had 3 fingers. Was able to recall what time it was in reality.

Began to imagine I was sonic on the Sonic Hedgehog game but I found that the scenery did not appear as I'd like it. Was in a good mood despite. Finally noticed that I was flexing my shoulders and back and with alot of effort and very slowly I was able to relax them. Should I be able to do this in a LD?

I had to breath in deeply a couple times and so I made sure to spin in circles to stay asleep like I heard to do. It worked. Thinking was almost as if I was awake. Body almost immobile. Laying on back and hands at my sides. I walked around in the self-universe that was mostly black with very blurry sparse buildings.

Tried to imagine grass and being on a farm and still very blurry and sparse. Was surprised when I woke up 45 minutes later (seemed like less time). Made myself fill this out.

What do you think? The big thing is that I think I might have just been daydreaming.

Can't be sure but maybe you had a small WILD....or just a light LD at least. You seem aware that you were not in reality and tried to manifest things that wouldn't be possible otherwise. Keep it up and see the dream guides for more specifics.

Well, my opinion is you were lucid, but a crap lucid at that. Tough luck, we all get bad ones, your's just sounded really dull and blurry.

But yeah, there is little doubt you were lucid. You knew you were asleep, you noticed your hands were odd, and you basically got off the usual rollercoaster that is dreaming and decided not to go for the ride. Thats lucid.

What you should be doing now is looking up how to improve clarity.

The first one was definitely a Lucid, but I'm not so sure about the second one. It sounds like you were visualizing different scenarios. The thoughts you have slowly become more and more real until you're in a dream. If you think you were in a dream, then it was a Lucid aswell. Like Origami said, low quality ones.

Try to activate your senses when you're confident that you're not just imagining something. Pay attention to the dream and forget you're in bed.

Where would be a good place in the forum to get some info on that?

I really don't know about the second so I'll just count the first as a lucid dream. How can I mark it down on my DV LD count? I'll work on paying more attention to the dream next time.

Dream Stabilization and Clarity Tutorial - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views

Here you go, it's in the DV wiki up top.

Also, go to "My profile" up at the very top, then "about me". Click in the little pencil icon beside DV count.
