Number of Dreams You Can Remember

I just had a very quick, simple question: you can remember more than one dream, without waking up multiple times correct? I know that people have always said you need to wake up during a dream, but I don't find this to be true. If anyone could help that'd be great.

You can remember as many dreams in a night as you have REM periods. You do not need to wake up during these dreams to recall them.

I have remembered multiple dreams from the same nights sleep on many different occasions.
From my personal experiences, I did not have to awake during the night to remember multiple dreams.
If I was able to remember multiple dreams after one straight period of sleep, I am sure others would be able to do the same.
Keeping a dream journal is key to building dream recall, the better your recall, the more you will remember after a good nights sleep.

Okay, thank you very much. That's what I thought, but as a kid I was constantly taught that you need to wake up during one. Thank you for all of your help.

You will dream usually during your REM periods, which occur throughout the night, there is a chart on here which tells you when they occur, but they become more frequent as you sleep longer.

Personally I recall 4-5 dreams/night on 9-10 hours sleep, you can wake up in the morning and remember all of your dreams, or only one, depending on how good your recall is

Keeping a Dream Journal aims to improve your recall so that you can remember your dreams no matter when you wake up
